Abstract

A seam sealing tape 11 comprises a strip 12 of profiled plastics material having a flat adherent face 13, which is laterally flexible and which corresponds in width and profile to a seam applied from a nozzle. The material 12 is extruded on to a double-sided adhesive film 13 on a release liner 14. The film 13 can be drawn in the lengthwise direction of the tape 11so that it is inelastically extensible in that direction. Instead of, or in addition to, the film 13 being drawn, an inextesible filament 15 can be introduced (See Figure 2). A method for making a seam sealing tape 11 by extrusion on to a substrate is also disclosed.
