Abstract

Loose handles comprise a single, formed shape, have hooks 1 to catch the rim of a bowl and insulated finger grips (3, figure 1) to provide protection from heat. The handle may be formed of, for example, stainless steel and the finger grips of silicone rubber. A pair of handles may be temporarily attached to a bowl to enable the upturning and emptying of the bowl's contents

Description
B aekgiuund This invention relates to the handling ola full or hot cooking howl used in the preparation of puddings and other loodstu!ls.
When a pudding has been prepared and/or cooked in a howl, it often nceds to be upturned in order to perfectly eject the pudding from the bowl onto a serving plate. lie bowls used br such purposes have sloping sides which make gripping with the hands very difficult, even with a Lea cloth or oven-gloves. This can result in a failure o!the pudding to turn out at all. his is worsened when the howl is hot since hums to the hands can result, and the bowl may be dropped.
Statement of Invention
lo overcome these difficulties and risks, the present invention proposes a pair of loose handles which can be attached to the rim oF the bowl to allow for it to he upturned safely, securely and with a grealer chance of releasing the pudding.
Introduction to Drawings
An example of the invention will now he descrihed hy referring to the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 show-s one ob the pair of loose handles, presently unhooked from the bowl.
Item 1 represents the hooks which catch the rim of the howl.
item 2 represents the fold of the handle which is used to lift the upturned bowl to release and eject the pudding.
Item 3 represents the silicone rubber covering.
Item 4 represents the hend in shape of the handle to accommodate the curve of the howl.
Figure 2 shows the pair of handles hooked over the opposite sides of the pudding howl rim, prior to being upturned.
Item 1 represenls the hooks, now caught on the rim of the howl.
Item 2 represents Ihe fold of the handle which will he used to lift the upturned howl Lo release and eject the pudding.
Item 3 represents the howl.
Item 4 represents the cooked contents of the howl.
Figure 3 show-s the handles being used to lift away the upturned bowl, revealing the turned-out pudding beneath.
Item 1 represents the hooks, caught on the rim of the bowl, and taking its weight as the bowl is lifted.
Item 2 represents the fold of the handles which are being used by the operator (not shown) to lilt the upturned bow-I to release and eject the pudding.
Item 3 represents the howl.
Item 4 represents the cooked contents of the bowl.
Item 5 represents the plate.

Detailed Description
The handles will be produced and used in identical pairs, thus there will he two of that item illustrated in Figure 1. I'hey will he constructed of a metal commonly used in food, hygiene and cooking environments (probably brushed stainless steel) which can withstand heat, water, dishwashing machines and washing detergents. Ihe majority of each handle will be covered in sealed silicone rubber (sec Item 2 and 3 in Figure 1) and available in a number of attractive colours. The silicone rubber covering coming into contact with the operator's fingers may be ribbed to further encourage protection from the heat.
When a pudding or meal has been prepared (Jr cooked in a pudding howl and needs to be upturned, the pair of handles are first hung on opposite sides of the bowl, as shown in Figure 2, using the hooks (Item 1) to catch the rim. The ergonomically-shaped silicone rubber handles (Item 2) rest against the curve of the bowl.
The operator (not shown) places a plate over the top of the howl, upturns the plate and bowl together, and uses the handles to lift away the bowl (sec Figure 3), revealing the pudding resting beneath on the plate.
Advantages The attachments which hook onto the rim ol the bowl allow it to he easily Ii lied, enabling the contents ol the how-I to turn out perfectly.
Ihe silicone rubber insulation of the handles will prevent hums from the hot howl.
lie silicone rubber insulation and ergonomic styling will minimize slippage of the bowl when it is upturned.
The silicone rubber insulation will prevent scratching or damage to the bowl.
The handles maybe used on bowls of most sizes and shapes, maximizing its opportunities for usc in the kitchen.
Prelërably, the silicone rubber insulation of the handles will he available in a range of colours, allowing co-ordination with other kitchen utensils and decoration.
Preferably, the handles will be dishwasher safe to enable easy cleaning.
