Abstract

A beer mat or coaster comprises a cover with two hingedly-connected parts 13,14 formed of an absorbent material with an apertured sheet 15 of foamed plastic material located between the two parts of the cover. The cover is preferably fabricated from a pulp board, cardstock, or wood fibre board. The cover may comprise a single rectangular sheet with a hinge formed therein or two separate sheets. The at least one aperture in the sheet of foamed plastic material may be shaped to receive gift items that may include one or more of a notepad and pen or pencil, an emery strip, facial tissues, a mirror, a calculator, a key ring, promotional cards or one or more badges.
