Abstract

A system of flooring panels 300, 400 of rigid, lightweight and strong material, eg polystyrene, is used to fill the spaces between structural beams 101 for constructing a floor. The invention concerns primarily the panel 400 which has, on the same side, an over-hanging portion 404 to engage the lower lip of a beam 101 and an under-hanging portion 413 to extend under the beam, and, on the other side, a recess 407 to accommodate part of the over-hanging portion 305 of an adjacent flooring panel 300. The panels 300,400 support each other with their top surfaces coplanar. The top and/or bottom surfaces of the under-hanging portion 413 may include a cutting guide.
