Abstract

A baby walker comprises a stationary base and a revolving arm for supporting a baby. The baby walker is preferably formed from a flat stationary base with upstanding shaft, three water-filled ballast rings which are stacked over the shaft, a revolving arm for supporting a baby, and a cap secured to the top of the shaft to keep the rings and arm in place. Ball bearings or other devices may be added to allow the baby supporting arm to revolve smoothly about the upstanding central shaft. The support arm can include an electronic sound and light module that is activated when the arm rotates. The product allows infants to practice walking in a safe and controlled manner and can be transported easily when the rings are empty.

DESCRIPTION
Baby walkaround Baby walker products whether part of nursery equipment or toys traditionally allow mobility around the home but risks of falling down steps, colliding with furniture and the walker toppling over are inherent in these designs. This new product allows an infant to practice walking in a safe and controlled way using a stationary base with revolving arm.
The product is made of six main parts. The flat base has a shaft which houses three plastic hollow rings that are filled with water to provide the correct counterweight. The rings have sealed openings to pour water in and out as required. A revolving arm is on top of the rings and can be placed either way round. A cap is secured to the top of the shaft above the arm and rings to keep them in place. The weight, height and other dimensions of the components have to be engineered so that the product is stable and safe and can be used for infants within a range of heights and weights. The product can be transported easily when the rings are empty.
Ball bearings or other device may be added to allow the arm to revolve smoothly.
The arm can include an electronic sound and light module that is activated when the arm rotates.
The infant will hold on to the arm and walk forward. The arm acts as a support that rotates around the shaft above the rings as the infant walks forward and around the base.
Figures 1 and 2 show all the parts separately and as an assembled unit.
Figures 3,4 and S show the assembled product from three different angles.
Figure 6 shows a cross section of the assembled product.
