Abstract

A material handling bag 10 includes a bottom face, two pairs of side faces 14, 16, a plurality of loops 20 and a pair of tunnels 18. The side faces and bottom face form an enclosure with an open top. The first pair of opposite side faces extends beyond a second pair of opposite side faces. The loops are disposed along the operative top edges of the side faces at four corners of said open operative top of the enclosure. The tunnels are configured from the first pair of opposite side faces and receive tines of a fork of a fork lift truck, thereby facilitating suspending of the bag on the fork, such that walls of tunnels extend above top edges of second pair of opposite side faces in the suspended configuration of the bag. At least some of the faces and the tunnels have reinforced portions. The reinforced portions may be configured during weaving or by folding and may be reinforced with synthetic or natural filaments. Some of the faces, tunnels and loops may be made from U panels.
