Abstract
A device or module which accepts as input, taps, knocks strikes or vibrations which outputs light in a pattern synchronised to the input rhythm. The device can be implemented as a module or attachable to existing devices or incorporated into the functions of a handheld device such as a mobile phone. Software accompanying the device would allow for configuration of light patterns and additional functions, such as saving the light pattern.
Description
Rhythmically activated light patterns and software applications.
This invention pertains to lights and rhythm. In this instance a rhythm or beat is input, into the device via taps, knocks strikes or vibration, which then outputs a light pattern based on the input. The invention would respond through light to taps, knocks strikes or vibration that was on or off rhythm. Taps, knocks, strikes or vibrations could be by hand or against a secondary object.
The invention could be implemented as a single module or handheld device which would handle the input and output function. The device could also be in the form of an attachable module to another object such as a mobile phone or part of the incorporated functions of a device such as a mobile phone.
The light pattern output could be managed or altered through software. The software would allow the light output to be recorded, replayed, transferred, saved and shared with other users as an electronic file format or data stream.
Mobile phones or other handheld devices could incorporate the invention as a function. A mobile device with the function could be tapped by hand or on a table to a rhythm. The device would then respond to the inputted taps or knocks by outputting a light pattern synchronised to the input.
The light output would be through the device screen or screens a separate module or attached lights, preferably LED light technology based. Devices could be configured through software to participate in team based rhythm light pattern games.
Light patterns or synchronisation could be configured preferably through software to accept taps, knocks or strikes from similar devices or vibrations from the immediate environment.
