Abstract
A puzzle comprises a row of elements 1, 2, 3, 4 disposed along and rotatable around a single axis. The elements have indicia 30 on their outer surface such that a plurality of indicia combinations can be formed by relative rotation of the elements. Aligning the indicia in a correct combination solves the puzzle and allows at least one element to be removed. In a first embodiment the puzzle defines a cylindrical container with the indicia provided on an outer surface, and the removable element 4 acts as a cap/lid. In a second embodiment the puzzle serves as a cylindrical cap/lid 33, 34, 38 for a bottle or similar container 31, with indicia 35 provided on the outer surface of the cap/lid, and removal of the element(s) allowing access to the interior of the bottle. In a third embodiment the puzzle serves as a cylindrical cap/lid for a container, and the outer edge of each element extends upwardly such that the outer edges are concentric and define an upper planar surface upon which the indicia are provided, with a handle part being associated with each element to facilitate rotation (see figures 11 & 12).
