Abstract

An article holder comprises a first and second endless strap 1, 2, and a handle 5 secured between the endless straps 1, 2. Preferably, side straps 3 and 4 are also provided, the each side strap being attached at a proximal and a distal end to one of the endless straps 1, 2. The straps may be made of a flexible material, such as an elastic material. The device is preferably used for bundling folders, books or documents together and carrying them.

Description

Article Holder 1
Description
This invention relates to a device for holding an article or multiple articles for ease of transportation and storage. It may be suitable for carrying folders, books or similar items in a secure and convenient way, with one hand.
This invention is described as a detachable article holder comprising of at least two straps, permanently attached to each other by stitching or another method of attachment, made from a flexible material such as elastic, which surrounds the article such as a folder to ensure that none of the contents or the article itself may escape during transportation.
It includes a handle within the design which makes the article easier to carry in one's hand, and two endless straps which surround and hold the contents firmly, and may be made from a non-elastic material and incorporate a method of tightening the loops without using elasticated straps, for example, using a hook and fleece material or a friction lock device.
The two endless straps are attached to each other by means of a section of material which also functions as a handle. One or more side straps attached at the distal and proximal end to one of the endless straps may also be present to prevent removal of the article or articles in this direction.
This invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing.
Figure 1 shows the invention in use around an example article.
In Figure 1, number 6 refers to the example article, and numbers 1 and 2 are endless straps which encompass the artide fully and securely. Number 5 is the section of material which joins the two endless straps and functions as an integrated handle. Straps 1 and 2 and 5 may be made of any flexible material, and the material used is not necessarily consistent throughout the invention, for example 1 and 2 may be of different materials, and 5 may be of yet another different material. Numbers 3 and 4 are side straps which are not endless, but each have a proximal end and a distal end which are permanently attached to points on endless straps 1 and 2, and join the opposing sides of straps 1 and 2. Straps 3 and 4 may not be present, or may be made from a different material to 1 and 2 or 5. All of these straps and sections of material are detachable from article 6, and permanently attached to each other by a means of attachment such as stitching.

Claims (8)

  1. Article Holder 2 Claims 1. An article holder comprising: a first endless strap; a second endless strap; a handle permanently secured between the first and second endless straps; and a first side strap having a distal end and a proximal end, the distal and proximal ends of the first side strap being attached to the first endless strap at respective first and second locations, such that the article holder is securable to an article by placement of the first and second endless straps around the article to hold the article with respect to the handle, wherein the first endless strap hinders removal of the article from the article holder in a first direction.
  2. 2. An article holder according to claim 1, wherein the first side strap is permanently attached to the first endless strap.
  3. 3. An article holder according to claim 1 or 2, further comprising a second side strap having a distal end and a proximal end, the distal and proximal ends of the second side strap being attached to the second endless strap at respective first and second locations, wherein the second endless strap hinders removal of an article held by the first and second endless straps from the article holder in a second direction.
  4. 4. An article holder according to claim 3, wherein the second side strap is permanently attached to the second endless strap.
  5. 5. An article holder according to any preceding claim, wherein the first endless strap is formed from an elastic material.
  6. 6. An article holder according to any preceding claim, wherein the second endless strap is formed from an elastic material.
  7. 7. An article holder according to any preceding claim, wherein the article holder is for holding documents.
  8. 8. An article holder substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
