Abstract

The purpose of the herb catcher is to minimise all loss of smoking material when loading a smoking bong. By placing the catcher over the down pipe of the smoking bong, this allows the scoop of the herb catcher to hang under the loading point of the down pipe. The area of the rim of the scoop is enough to catch any unused waste in the drop radius (see figure 2, B). By folding the tabs (figure 1 A1) behind the neck of the herb catcher, and then through the given apertures A2; this will ensure that the corner of the fold where the scoop meets the neck is firmly sealed so even the smallest bits of smoking herbs or tobaccos are saved (see figure 2).

Description

Description of the Herb Catcher and its use
Designs of traditional smoking devices have overlooked a fundamental concept and that is how to alleviate the amount of wastage which occurs when in use and secondly how to eradicate the amount of untidy spillage from dispensing onto surrounding areas. Therefore, we created SKUTE' the herb catcher' to counter the constant loss of smoking material when in use with dried herbs or tobacco and which can be used with nearly all types of smoking pipes.
The idea of the herb catcher is that once it has been placed over the down pipe of any herbal smoking device it will then proceed to catch any residual elements from the use of this smoking device. It does this by hanging a cone shaped catcher in a fixed position under the point in which the smoking material will need to be placed on the smoking device, Which will be at the top end of the down pipe.
On a subsidiary note, in addition to the saving that will be made on reduction of lost smoking material the herb catcher will avoid any loose debris from falling on surrounding areas, floor, sofa therefore creating a more tidier environment.
Drawings and Design Of The Herb Catcher (Figure 1) Design of our invention the herb catcher is a 2D image as it is made from thin sheet Plastic.
Al.) The tabs are designed to slot in through the aperture at A2 from behind the neck of the herb catcher.
A2.) The apertures at this point will hold the tabs in place by using the resistance from the cone of the herb catcher B.) The herb catcher will be placed on the down pipe. This cut is designed to always give a comfortable fit C.) when folded into place, this cut will allow the plastic to fold over itself to seal the corner creating a water tight seal.
(Figure 2) This drawing shows the final construction, the function of the herb catcher and how it works.
A.) At this point the smoking device will hold the tobaccos or herbs. As they are placed there, small flakes will fall and land in the catcher at point B. B.) The cone of the herb catcher was designed to fit at the right angle and distance from the loading point at the top of the down pipe to give maximum efficiency in reducing all waste.
(Figure 3) This drawing represents a birds eye view of the herb catcher when its attached to the down pipe.
A.) At this point the cut is folded over itself and has created the water tight seal ensuring maximum efficiency of the design.
B.) The tabs will lock the catcher into place and by using a smooth finnish on the surface of the material, which will add resistance by friction giving an added strength to the whole structure.
C.) This is the part of the smoking bong in which the herb or tobacco is placed, more commonly known as the loading point' situated at the top of the down pipe.
D.) The herb catcher uses an eight way star cut (shown in figure 1. B.) to hold it firmly on the down pipe of the smoking bong.
