Abstract
An exercise device comprising a housing 4 and 5 for retaining a medicine ball and means to fasten the housing to a users feet comprising heel supports 11, ankle straps 7 and straps 3 suitable for engaging the bridge of a foot. The housing 4 and 5 may comprise a spherical shell split into 2 halves with a hinged connection 13. There may also be a latch 6 and 8 to fasten the two halves together. Foot plates 12 or pedals may also be provided and the device may be suitable for use with a range of different sizes and weights of medicine ball.
Description
Description of Invention
This actually happened to me I was in the gym and I had the medicine ball between my feet and I was lifting my feet up and down but I lost my balance and also at the first time I lost the medicine ball, so I had the idea to create a medicine ball holder or housing unit that would hold a medicine ball in place by attaching your feet to the the body of the medicine ball holder.
This invention relates to a device that attaches to your feet and houses a Medicine Ball inside in a stable position for fitness training purposes.
People use Medicine Balls between there feet to train there abdomen usually in a lifting motion to strengthen there lower abdomen or a side motion to train there obliques.
However, this can lead to a lack of physical training from or a loss of the ball between there feet or legs which can decrease the amount of repartitions and hamper training.
If the Medicine Ball was housed in a device and attached to the feet this would enable people to hold the Medicine Ball stable and perform more repartitions through not losing the Medicine Ball.
I believe this device could also house different sizes and weights of exercise balls.
The device will house a Medicine Ball and will attach to the feet by using pedals and straps, the device will have a latch that on the outside that will hold the medicine ball inside.
Figure 1 shows the aerial view of the housing unit for the medicine ball including the foot plates (pedals) either side.
In figure 1 you can see a spindle 1 which is encased in footplate 12, footplate 12 shows a strap that goes over the bridge of the foot 3 and also an ankle strap 7, ankle strap 7 will also be supported by the heel support 11, all these items are to provide security to the user. Spindle 1 attaches to the body of the device 4 and is supported by extra body support 2 which is attached to the body 4, the body 4 is where the medicine ball will sit, once the medicine ball is in place then the lid of the body 5 will then close and pegs 9 will slot into the slots for the pegs 10 which will add security to the male latch 6 and the female latch 8.
The user will put there feet through the bridge of the foot strap 3 and then they will fasten up the ankle strap 7 once this has been done the user can then choose the weight of the medicine ball they require once they have made there choice they will then put there medicine ball into the housing body 4 and close the lid 5 do up the latch 6,8 and then lift there feet up and down working there abdomen and obliques.
Claims (4)
- Claims 1. A medicine ball housing unit that allows the user to keep the medicine ball attached to there person by attaching it to there feet which holds the medicine ball in a stable state by using the device which is fastened to there feet using a heel support a ankle strap and a strap for the bridge of the foot and remains in place until the user unfastens themselves after completing there exercise.
- 2. A medicine ball housing unit according to claim 1, in which the housing closes holding the medicine ball inside.
- 3. A medicine ball housing unit according to claim, in which the housing unit closes and is fastened together to hold the medicine ball in place.
- 4. A medicine ball housing unit according to claim 1, in which the housing unit is attached either side to areas for your feet to be placed either side and be fastened safely.
