Abstract

A catheter comprising a lateral U-shaped tip is disclosed. The curved tip is used to correctly align the catheter with the contra-lateral limb of a graft that is placed within an aneurysm. The catheter may also be rotated to allow accurate positioning relative to the graft. A guide wire may then be introduced into the graft. The U-shape may have different lengths for different sizes of aneurysm, preferably above 1 millimetre.

MANESH CATHETER
Description:
Manesh Catheter is a device invented by me, the undersigned, which facilitates the catheterisation of the contra lateral limb of the [VAR graft in [ndo Vascular Repair of Aneurysms.
The invention is based on the lateral U-shape design of the catheter tip. The U shape will have different lengths for different size of aneurysms.
The second important characteristic of the catheter is based on the rotational function of the catheter which allows desired positioning of the catheter to be aligned with the contra lateral limb of the graft.
Following this a guide wire is easily introduced in the contra lateral limb of the main graft for deployment of the second section of the graft on the contra lateral limb.
Manesh catheter is introduced through a sheath in the groin and by rotational movement of the graft the catheter is ideally positioned in alignment to the contra lateral limb of the main body of the graft in the aneurysm.
A guide wire is introduced in the Manesh catheter into the contra lateral limb of the graft where after the second section of the graft, which is the contra lateral limb of the graft is introduced in the main body of the graft and securely positioned.
1-The Horizontal U-shape of the catheter tip which allows correct alignment of the catheter tip with the contra lateral limb of the graft for introduction of the guide wire into the main body of the graft 2-The Horizontal U-shape of the catheter tip comes in different sizes from 1 millimetre to 60 millimetre and above 3-The rotational action of the catheter in the Aneurysm sack is characteristic for this catheter
