Abstract

248,166. Smith & Davis, Ltd., and Davis, F. H. Feb. 17, 1925. Name plates and the like are formed with a back plate on to which letters &c. are slid and secured in position on the back plate and also to a support by means of a surrounding frame member. The back plate 1 has turned over edges 2 forming grooves into which the letters 4 and spacing pieces 8 are slid. or the letters &c. may have turned over edges engaging with the back plate. The ends of the grooves may be bent in to serve as stops for the end letters. A rectangular frame 9 with chamfered edges is arranged so that its inner edge secures the letters and back plate and the frame is fixed to a support by means of screws 6.
