Abstract

A paper washer which can be coated with a waterproof material. The washer is placed between two metal surfaces, thereby preventing them sticking together through oxidation. The figure shows an alloy wheel and an alloy wheel hub separated by a cut to size paper based material. The paper can be easily removed and/or replaced.

PATENT SPECIFICATION
Oxidation Barrier A paper based material which sits between 2 or more alloy surfaces creating a barrier and thus preventing the alloy surfaces sticking together by the process of oxidation.
Background: This invention prevents oxidation between 2 alloy surfaces.
When alloy surfaces are brought together, oxidation in the air and moisture cause the alloy surfaces to bond together by a process called oxidation. The alloys stick together making them difficult to separate.
Statement To overcome this, the present invention proposes a thin paper of Invention: based material which sits between 2 or more alloy surfaces, creating a barrier and thus preventing the alloy surfaces sticking together by the process of oxidation.
The papers between the alloy surfaces prevents 2 or more surfaces sticking together making them easier to separate.
Preferably the paper is cut to size to match the surface of the alloy surfaces. Preferably the paper can be of different thicknesses depending on the finish of the alloy surfaces.

Claims (7)

  1. Claims 1. A paper based material which sits between 2 or more alloy surfaces creating a barrier and thus preventing the alloy surfaces sticking together by the process of oxidation.
  2. 2. A paper based material according to Claim 1, in which the papers is of varying thicknesses.
  3. 3. A paper based material according to Claim 1, in which the paper is of different shapes.
  4. 4. A paper based material according to Claim 1, in which the paper can be coated with a waterproof material.
  5. 5. A paper based material according to Claim 1, in which the paper can be of different sizes.
  6. 6. A paper based material according to Claim 1, in which the paper can provide partial or full coverage between the 2 alloy surfaces.
  7. 7. A paper based material according to Claim I, which can be used to create a barrier between surfaces other than alloys.
