Abstract

An apparatus for straightening a curved penis is disclosed, comprising a curved tube 100 having a first and a second end; an air outlet 102 at said first end for connecting a vacuum pump thereto; an opening 104 at said second end; whereby a low pressure area can be created in said tube 100. The apparatus may further comprise a removable lid 110. The apparatus may further comprise a seal 104 at the second end. A method is disclosed comprising applying the tube 100 to the penis in a direction opposite to the natural direction of curvature of the penis, and removing air from the tube 100, to straighten the penis.

Description

Vacuum Penis Straightener
Background of the Invention
[1] The present invention relates to penile straightening devices.
[2] Penile straightening devices are used where Peyronie's disease or other disease, damage, or other factors cause an undesirable curvature of the penis.
[3] Wo 2008092367 to Hsu discloses a penile curvature correction device. The device includes a carrier, a main chamber, a secondary tube disposed inside the main chamber, and an adjusting part attached to the main chamber. The main chamber is a hollow transparent tube, which covers the penis for correcting the shape thereof. The tubes preferably comprise silica gel. The adjustable part accommodates changes in size of the penis.
[4] DE 19847138 to Karnmholz discloses a device for curving a penis upwards. The device comprises a vacuum chamber which is inwardly or inwardly and outwardly curved so that, as the penis is enlarged, at the same time it curves upwards. The inner curve is formed by a soft-surfaced inflatable pad inserted into the vacuum chamber. The bottom rim of the vacuum chamber has an inflatable sealing ring which seals off the base of the penis shaft. Various sizes and shapes of pad can be made to suit the size of penis and curvature desired.
Brief Suxiuary of the Invention [51 It can be seen from the forgoing that there is a need for straightening a penis. It will be readily appreciated that it would be advantageous to do so in a comfortable and non-invasive manner.
[6] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a device for straightening a penis in a comfortable and non-invasive manner.
[7] To this end, an apparatus for straightening a curved penis is disclosed comprising: a curved tube having a first and a second end; an air outlet at said first end for connecting a vacuum pump thereto; an opening at said second end; whereby a low pressure area can be created in said tube.
[8] A method is disclosed comprising applying the tube to the penis in a direction opposite to the natural direction of curvature of the penis, and removing air from the tube, to straighten the penis.
[9] An advantage of the present invention is that, by curving the penis in the opposite direction to its natural curve, the time and/or force required to straighten the penis is reduced compared with that required when holding the penis in a straight position.
Brief Description of the Several Views of the Drawing [10] The invention can be better understood with reference to the following drawings, in which: [11] Figure 1 shows the apparatus of the present invention, in use; and [121 Figure 2 shows a range of design options of the present invention.

Detailed Description of the Invention
[14] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, shown in Figures 1 and 2, an apparatus for straightening a curved penis is disclosed comprising: a curved tube 100 having a first and a second end; an air outlet 102 at said first end for connecting a vacuum pump thereto; an opening 104 at said second end; whereby a low pressure area can be created in said tube.
[15] In use, the tube is placed over a curved penis such that the curve of the tube opposes the direction of curvature.
For example, Figure 2 shows a penis 101 having a natural curve to the left, and the same penis 103 with the tube 100 applied such that it forces the penis 103 to curve to the right, opposing its natural curvature. An advantage of this is that by curving the penis the opposite way to its natural curvature less time and force are required to straighten the penis compared with forcing the penis into a straight position. The tube is applied such that the opening 104 contacts the skin of the user.
[16] A vacuum pump as known in the art is then connected to air outlet 102 and air is pumped out of the tube. Opening 104 forms an airtight, or substantially airtight seal between the skin of the user and the tube, enabling a low pressure to be created inside the tube. The low pressure creates forces which expand the penis outwards towards the inner wall of the tube, filling the tube and thus taking on the shape of the tube. Since the shape of the tube opposes the natural curvature of the penis, the result when the tube is removed is a straighter penis, that is, the curvature of the penis is reduced.
[17] For a slightly curved penis, the result may be a completely straight penis, and for a very curved penis, the result may be a straighter penis than previously. An advantage of the present invention is that the treatment is permanent. The forces created by the vacuum cause the skin and the penis chambers to grow, therefore the reduction in curvature is a long-term effect.
[18] The tube is preferably a plastic tube having a substantially circular cross section since this is approximately the cross sectional shape of a penis, although other cross sections may be used. Any suitable form of plastic or other material known in the art may be used. The tube may be completely curved or may have curved portions and straight portions, as shown in Figure 2. Preferably the tube is shaped to oppose the curvature of the penis to be straightened. Furthermore, the circumference of the tube may increase towards the opening, creating a partially conical end 106 as shown in Figure 2. An advantage of this is that there is more surface area available to create a seal with the skin of the user, and furthermore it accommodates penises which have a larger circumference towards their base.
[19] The opening is simply an open end, and may further comprise a seal 108 which may be silicon, rubber or other material around the opening to enhance the sealing properties of the opening against the skin of the user, and create a more reliable airtight space inside the tube.
[201 The air outlet is a hole, tube or nozzle as known in the art for attaching a vacuum pump thereto. Many suitable vacuum pumps are known in the art and any may be used. The air outlet may comprise a connector 112 for connecting a vacuum pump, which may comprise a quick-release mechanism, a screw mechanism, or any connecting means known in the art for connecting a pump to a nozzle or the like.
[21] Furthermore the apparatus may comprise a lid 110. The lid may screw, snap-fit or otherwise attach to the tube. An advantage of having a lid is that the apparatus can be more readily accessed for cleaning and maintenance. The air outlet may be disposed in said lid as shown in the figures or may be disposed elsewhere on the tube.
[22] The apparatus may comprise at least one tube extension, shown in Figure 3. The tube extension is an extra length of plastic or other material having the same cross section as the base of the tube, for adding to the end of the tube to make the apparatus longer to accommodate a longer penis. Preferably, the tube has a circular cross section therefore the tube extension is a short cylinder. The tube extension comprises substantially airtight means for attaching to the tube, which may be any attachment means known in the art, for example snap fits, screw threads or the like, which may further comprise a rubber seal, silicon seal, or the like to provide an airtight volume inside the tube/tube extension combination. For example, Figure 3 shows tube extensions 130 mounted on tube 100. The extensions are attached via screw threads 132 and sealed with ring-shaped rubber or silicon seals 134.
[23] Preferably the low pressure created inside said tube is a vacuum, since this will provide the strongest forces on the penis, to alter the shape of the penis. However, alternatively a partial vacuum, that is, an area of low pressure, may be produced.
[24] In a second embodiment of the invention, a method is disclosed for straightening a penis. The method comprises the steps of: [25] (1) applying to the penis a curved tube having an opening at a first end and an air outlet at a second end, in a direction opposite to a natural direction of curvature of the penis, and [26] (2) removing air from the tube via the air outlet.
[27] The tube, opening, and air outlet are those of the first embodiment. The air is removed using a vacuum pump as in the first embodiment and all variations to the first embodiment apply also to the second embodiment.

Claims (8)

  1. Claims 1. An apparatus for straightening a penis comprising: a curved tube having a first and a second end; an air outlet at said first end for connecting a vacuum pump thereto; an opening at said second end; whereby a low pressure can be created in said tube.
  2. 2. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said low pressure area is a vacuum.
  3. 3. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising a removable lid, wherein said air outlet is disposed on said lid.
  4. 4. The apparatus of claim wherein said air outlet further comprises a connector for connecting a vacuum pump.
  5. 5. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the circumference of said tube increases towards said opening.
  6. 6. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising a seal at said second end.
  7. 7. A method for straightening a penis comprising the steps of: applying a curved tube having an opening at a first end and an air outlet at a second end, to the penis, in a direction opposite to a natural direction of curvature of the penis, and removing air from the tube via the air outlet.
  8. 8. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising at least one tube extension.
