Description

BABIES' NAPPIES
Field of the Invention
This invention relates to babies nappies.
Background of the Invention
Currently there are problems with the existing methods by which the way the basic items that are required to change a baby are packaged and available to hand.
Parents often forget or misplace basic essentials such as wet-wipes and disposable nappy bags and then spend valuable time trying to find these items, often to the distress of the baby before changing the baby can proceed. On occasions, a parent will come to change the baby only to find that the wet wipe packet is empty; then an alternate means is required or an unacceptable alternative has to be found.
When away from home, a parent often has to take a large changing bag to carry all the items that are required to change the baby even if they are only planning a short trip. If some of the basic essentials to change the baby did not have to be carried in a separate bag, life for the parent would be considerably easier.
When travelling on planes, trains, buses, etc., there is often very little space in the restroom to accommodate a nappy bag and a baby, with the result that the nappy bag has to be placed on unhygienic surfaces i.e. on the restroom floor, before being put on a work top or table, thus increasing the risk of spreading germs to young babies and their families.
It is an object of the present invention to allow a parent or carer to change a baby's nappy with minimal problem.
Summary of the Invention
According to a first aspect of the present invention there is provided means for use in changing a baby's nappy comprising a package containing a disposable nappy, one or more wet wipes and a bag for use in the disposal of a soiled nappy.
According to a second aspect of the present invention there is provided the combination of a disposable nappy and a packet containing one or more wet wipes and a bag for use in the disposal of a soiled nappy.
The packet may be located in a pocket on the back of the disposable nappy or attached by means of a releasable adhesive to the back of the nappy.
The packet or package may also contain a supply of anti-rash ointment or another cream or lotion.
By using products provided in a single package containing a disposable nappy, changing of a baby's nappy is facilitated. Means are thus provided for cleaning the baby and disposing of the soiled nappy or even the application of anti-rash ointment.
The focus of the present invention is to provide easy access to the basic essential items so that, when in the home, out for the day, or traveling for a longer period, additional items will not have to be carried. This makes life more convenient for the parent or carer.
Infants are often left with relatives or baby sitters for a short period of time, but the amount of basic essentials that has to be handed over can be staggering and unnecessary for that particular timeframe.
When an infant gets older but still depends on nappies, there is often little need to carry a complete nappy bag. By having a convenient all-in-one nappy product, this problem is solved allowing the parent to travel normally but still being able to change their child if an accident has occurred.
When babies are first born, it is very common for them to get nappy rash; this is easily treated by applying a vitamin or anti-rash cream. Parents often only have one tube or bottle of this cream which is commonly not in the same place when parents are changing their babies throughout a twenty four hour period, If this cream is not applied every time the baby is changed, it may result in a minor medical condition and skin irritations leaving the baby sore and in discomfort.
The present invention will thus provide, as an option, a packet of vitamin or anti-rash cream on the back of the nappy, making it easy for the parent to apply the cream every time they change their baby. Once the nappy rash is healed then the parent only buys the nappies with the wet wipe and disposable nappy bag packet on the nappy.
The various problems and inconviences referred to above will come to an end with the present invention allowing a parent to clean their baby, dispose of the dirty nappy, and treat their baby's nappy rash every time they change their baby until the rash is healed. Most importantly, it will allow the parent to travel lighter, with less inconvenience and more certainty about having the right equipment to hand when the baby needs to be changed.
Brief Description of the Drawing
The single figure of the accompanying drawing is a schematic view of a package containing a disposable nappy.
Description of the Preferred Embodiments
The single figure of the accompanying drawing shows a disposable nappy I to the back of which is attached, by means of a releasable adhesive, a strong, malleable lightweight packet 2 within which there are one or more wet wipes, a bag for use in the disposal of a soiled nappy and, optionally, an anti-nappy-rash cream or lotion. The material from which the packet 2 is formed is moisture-resistant such that the liquid within the wet wipes will not penetrate the surface of the nappy 1.
The disposable nappy I and the packet 2 may, themselves, be supplied as a package.
As an alternative to attaching the packet 2 to the nappy I by means of a releasable adhesive, the packet 2 may be contained in a pocket on the back of the nappy 1.
There will be no change to the purpose of the nappy I but, on the back on the outside, there is a small packet 2 that will contain items to change the baby. The packet will be attached by adhesive or, alternatively, sachets of products will be contained in a small pocket located on the back of the nappy. Neither arrangement will damage the nappy nor be harmful to the baby.
Nappies may be purchased in all sizes with the packet on the back. The packet will contain a number of wet wipes and a disposable nappy bag all housed within the packet. The packet will be made out of a material that keeps the moisture of the wet wipes intact and not penetrate the surface area of the nappy. The packet will have an easy-opening pull-back tab 3. Once the nappy has been changed and the wet wipes used, the disposable nappy bag will hygienically dispose of the nappy avoiding unnecessary odours. An option will also allow a parent to buy a nappy with the wet wipes, disposable nappy bag and a vitamin anti-rash cream all conveniently in one place.
Important features of the present invention are as follows:-The packet 2 is made out of a strong malleable lightweight material that will allow the moisture to stay within the wet wipes and not penetrate the surface area of the nappy I. The packet 2 contains a quantity of wet wipes and a disposable nappy bag.
The packet 2 may contain a sachet of vitamin anti-nappy-rash cream.
The packet 2 may be fixed on the outside of the nappy 1 by an adhesive that will not damage the nappy.
Alternatively, a lightweight pocket will be positioned on the back of the nappy 1 and the packet 2 will be inserted inside the pocket so that, when the packet items are required, they can be safely removed.
If the packet 2 is left on the nappy 1, the packet 2 will not hinder or impair the baby's movements, affect the baby's mobility or bring discomfort to the baby.
The packet 2 for the wet wipes and disposable nappy bag can have an easy-opening pull-back tab 3 to easily release the packet and contents.
It will be possible to purchase nappies accompanied by the wet wipes and a disposable nappy bag on the back of the nappy 1 or alternatively with a separate/combined packet 2 containing the vitamin anti-rash treatment cream.
It will also be possible to purchase nappies with only the vitamin anti-rash treatment cream on the back of the nappy.
Ihe only changes to the design of a typical disposable nappy will be the addition of either: a packet which is to be attached via adhesive; or an integral pocket located on the back and on the outside of the nappy for receiving the packet.
The items within the packet or pocket will be easily removed to assist with the changing of the baby. The packet or pocket will hold sachets containing the products identified. Either way the packet/pocket is designed so the baby does not experience discomfort or impaired movement in any way.
The present invention will avoid parents forgetting or running out of the basic essentials needing to change a baby's nappy and then having to spend time searching around to change their baby. The invention will also allow parents to travel away from their residence for a short period or a long period of time with the minimum amount of equipment but still allowing them to change and see to their babies needs no matter where they are. The present invention will drastically cut down on the size of the bag needed to carry the items and make life considerably easier for a male who does not carry a hand bag within which to put such items.
