Abstract
A bicycle rack is provided in the shape of a bicycle. This offers better and more comprehensive support to bicycles than smaller more traditional designed "hooped" shaped racks or stands and thus prevents damage caused thereby. The design is pleasing to the eye and allows cyclists to more easily identify areas where they can park and secure their bicycles as the shape is more easily recognised than the traditional shaped stands or racks.

Description
Bikestand This invention of a bicycle shaped metal bike stand solves the problem of damaged caused by insufficient support given to bicycles when they are rested against traditional style bicycle stands or racks. Traditional style bicycle stands are normally on average 750mm wide and do not support the whole of the bicycle. In many instances this causes damage to the wheels and puts them out of alignment or in some instances can buckle them. Our bike stand is over 1700mm in length and nearly 1000mm high and offers full support for the whole bike.
The shape of the invention also acts as an advertisement for cyclists to show them where they can park their vehicles. There is also no confusion as to what type of vehicle can use the stand.
Some motorcyclists have used bicycle stands in the past and have professed that there is no clear indication as to who can and who cannot use the stands that are "hooped" in shape.
Finally, the Bikestand is aesthetically pleasing to the eye compared with the traditional "hooped" deign and in some cities and some conservation areas our design would fit in better with the environment.
Drawings Bikestand Figure 1 shows the outline of our invention in 2 dimensions. The structure is made from metal tubing measuring approximately 50mm in diameter.
Items 1 and 2 show the "wheels" of the stand which measure approximately 70cm in diameter.
Items 3 and 4 show the fixing rods that are welded to the bottom of each "wheel" to allow the stand to be secured into the ground using concrete. Items 3 and 4 can be replaced by welded brackets (figure 2 -item 5) if the user requires a surface mounted instead of a concrete mounted bike stand. If a surface mounted bike stand is required, item 5 is welded over each of the "wheels" at the bottom and mounting is made by bolting through the 2 holes shown as item 6. If surface mounting is chosen items 3 and 4 are discarded at the manufacture/construction stage.
