Abstract

A coupling is disclosed for releasably securing a bite indicator to a rod rest. The coupling comprises two separable male and female and elements 10 and 40. One element is secured to, or forms part of, the bite alarm housing. The other element is secured releasably or permanently to the rod rest. The male element comprises a foot with two laterally projecting side edges or flanges 28, 30, while the female element comprises a socket 52 having side grooves (54, 56 figure 6) for receiving the projecting side edges of the foot. Removal of the foot from the socket may be resisted by a latch.
