Abstract

A gem stone 1 is illuminated by at least one light emitting diode 4 powered from a solar panel 2 via an intensity amplifier 3. A sparkle distributor 5 may be used to allow control of several LEDs 4.

Description

Illuminated gem stone from a light intensity amplifier This invention relates to a device for making jewellery sparkle at high brightness even in low light levels.
When it is vital to create that good impression with even the most expensive of jewellery it is important to make sure that it sparkles no matter what light you are in.
To overcome this the invention proposes a gem stone which stores up light energy ready to emit a pulse of light by LED.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 shows the bare gem stone.
Figure 2 shows the internal unit to which the gem stone fig 1 will be attached to.
Figure 1 shows a pre-cut gem stone (1) ready for inclusion into a piece of jewellery.
Figure 2 shows situated in or near to gem stone, a solar panel (2) to receive light. An intensity amplifier (3) to store received light over a few seconds and produce a short pulse of high current to at least one LED (4) via a sparkle distributor (5) to allow several LEDS (4) to be controlled.
