Abstract

A filtering device comprises two blades and a plurality of filters (1 - 5). Preferably each of the two blades is positioned at an end of the filter device and during use drive an emission such as exhaust gas through the device. The blades may be battery powered. The filters may be arranged in series and can consist of a semi-porous paper, polyurethane, a nanopore membrane and nitrogen filtering membrane. Preferably the filtering device can be fitted to an effluent source by means of a rubber or screw fastener. Advantageously the filtering device may be used to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and sulphur oxides from the let outs of vehicles, factory chimneys and other bio-fuel or fossil fuel combustion effluents.

Description

TITLE: EMISSION FILTER
DESCRIPTION OF FIGURE 1
Figure 1 shows a simplified schematic diagram of the device. This simplified diagram is without instalment yet to the main body of the mechanic.
This view is to focus on the basic components of the device which is in the form of a long cylindrical tube consisting of fans at the extreme end of the tube with filtration columns bound within the tube.
First, there are two suction blades! fans on both extremes of the device. One of the blades is a suction blade which sucks into the device while the other blade is another suction blade which sucks from the device out. The blades can either be battery powered from the energy source of the mechanic or from an independent power source especially for it.
Seated in the device are series of filtration columns; some of which are specific for the constituent effluent and some of which are general for the constituents of the combustion products.
The columns include a section made of paper which is semi porous in order for specific and part non specific entrapment of some of the constituent of the effluent.
Then, there is a column of polyurethane through which the resulting effluent flows through with some of the constituents being entrapped by the polyurethane.
Furthermore is the carbon affinity nano pore membrane described by Yuichi et al, which selectively entraps carbon from the resulting effluent. Then, there is the nitrogen filtering membrane for selective entrapment of nitrogen from the effluent.
These columns are tightly fitted to the wall of the device so that the gas pumps through them and there is no escape of part of the gas from the sides of the device.
The device is fitted to the effluent source with a rubber or screw enabled fastener
FIELD OF INVENTION
This device has to do with the need to reduce the emission of green house gases and sulphur oxides from the let outs of diverse mechanics including vehicles, ships, factory chimneys and other biofuel/ fossil fuel combustion effluents. The device also addresses the issue of pollution by bio fuel, organic fuel and fossil fuel powered mechanics, concomitantly reducing the depletion of the Ozone layer by Ozone depleting compounds.
The device can be classified into the automotive mechanics, filter or greenhouse effluent filters.
SUMMARY
The device will enable the substantial reduction of green house gases, exhaust gases, fumes and Sulphur oxides emitted from biofuel and fossil fuel powered mechanics.
The invention will enable for the tolerance of fossil fuel powered machines in an environmentally friendly earth.
Some of the combustion products released as discharge during the combustion of fossil fuel and biofuel include sulphur oxides, nitrogen oxides, carbon dioxides and other carbon compounds. These gases and compounds are not all given off as a direct product of fossil or bio fuel combustion but some of them are given off as by products from the combustion of surrounding air in the combustion environment of the fuels.
Inclusive of these gases is the fumes given off which is largely and physically observable in many mechanics and sometimes depending on the quality of the fuel and or engine, can be very intolerable both to the environment and to living things.
This device will enable the significant elimination of this gases and combustion effluent from the exhaust, chimney, let out pipes of various mechanics.
