Abstract

An offshore vessel mooring and riser inboarding system 10 comprises a first mooring portion 16 adapted to be located in an offshore environment 18 and to be moored using a plurality of mooring lines 20 such that rotation of the first mooring portion about its own axis 22 is restricted. The system further comprises a second mooring portion 24 mounted for rotation relative to the first mooring portion and a flexible coupling 26 adapted to extend between a vessel 12 and the second mooring portion, for coupling the vessel to the second mooring portion. At least one of the first and second mooring portions comprises an elongate tubular member 28 having an internal passage 30 through which at least one riser 32 can extend to the vessel. A method of mooring a vessel using the system is also disclosed.
