Abstract
The body of the caravan is a boxlike shape with square ends 1 and a 3D nose cone is joined onto the front end of the caravan body. The front nose cone is made up of three triangular panels, consisting of two sides 3, 4 and a front 5, and a floor. The nose cone creates a more aerodynamic shape and provides storage accessed through doors 6.
Description
CARAVAN FRONT NOSE CONE
This invention relates to the construction and shape of a caravan.
Typically, most caravans have a shape that curves at one end. This curved shape can often mean that some of the space inside the caravan is compromised to accommodate this.
The proposed invention is the construction of a square shaped caravan body with a separate adjoining section that forms a 3D nose cone at the front.
The square body of the caravan means the full interior height of the caravan can be used, giving more space inside. The 3D nose cone on the front creates a more aerodynamic shape for the caravan than just a box. This helps with the air flow around the body of the caravan when the vehicle is moving.
The inside of the front nose cone can be used as a storage area ideal for storing gas bottles, keeping them out of the way, and maximising the space inside the rest of the caravan, leaving more room for other uses.
The shape of the nose cone allows for the inclusion of two doors into this storage area, giving easy access to the gas locker without having to reach over the tow hitch to gain access, as per typical caravan design with a central door at the front.
Examples of the product will now be described with reference to the drawings.
Figure 1 shows the proposed design for the caravan shape Figure 2 shows the caravan viewed from the front Figure 3 shows the plan view of the caravan The body of the caravan is a boxlike shape with square ends (1). There is a 3D nose cone joint onto the front end of the caravan body (2). The front nose cone is made up of three triangular panels, consisting of two sides (3) (4) and a front (5), and a floor. The space inside this nose cone can be used as a storage area.
The design of this nose cone can allow for the inclusion of two doors (6), (one on each of the side panels that make up the nose cone), which allows for easy access into the storage area.
