Abstract
The invention relates to a water treatment system having a drive for driving a pump for pumping water to a filter means including a reverse osmosis filter. The drive is powerable by a human, and the system is configured to process water, including salt, to provide potable water. The system may pump water to the filter means at a pressure of at least 60 bar, and preferably at least 69 bar. The system may output up to at least 450 liters of potable water per day. To drive the system pedal means may be used. The filter means may comprise a first filter step and a second filter step and the second filter step may include a reverse osmosis filter. The system may include energy recovery means.
