Trays, dishes, and containers for roll films.- In apparatus for treating long or short films in the form of rolls with spaces between the convolutions, (1) the film 1 is wound on a drum 3 having a flange 6 forming a seating for the first convolution only of the roll; (2) the edges of the convolutions of the roll are held lightly in position by a pair of crossed stirrups, one of which is shown at 7, which have incurved central parts adapted to engage resiliently the interior wall of the drum, extensions 7<1> turned round the peripheral surface of the roll, and, if desired, feet for spacing the roll from the base of the developing &c. tank; (3) the convolutions of the film are spaced by an interwound apron 2 formed in known manner of the same material as the film and with hollow spacing bosses 4, and characterized in that the inner end of the apron is stuck or otherwise fixed to the drum, and in that the bosses 4 have points 12 inset from the edges of the apron and apertures 14 at the edges of the apron; (4) the roll is inserted for treatment in a tank 15 which may have ribs 24 for spacing the roll from the base, and a cover 16 having inward projections 17 which embrace the. centre of the stirrup 7 so that the roll may be rotated by turning the cover. The extensions 7<1> of the stirrups serve to space the roll from the sides of the tank. A second tank 19 may be provided which encloses the tank 15. and may be used for further treatment of the roll. Several rolls mav be treated together in one large container, which has a perforated base so that all the rolls are treated simultaneously in the various baths and drying chamber, and which may have partitions separating the rolls.
