Abstract
In one preferred form, shown in Figure 3, there is provided a solar power transducer (26). The solar power transducer (26) includes at least one solar cell (30), an intermediate energy store (32), and a controller (36). The intermediate energy store (32) is arranged for storing energy generated by the at least one solar cell (30). The controller (36) is provided for recovering energy from the intermediate energy store (32) and for supplying current to an output (48) of the transducer (26). The controller (36) includes a switching arrangement (42) for allowing the current to flow to the output (48), whilst limiting the voltage drop, and for substantially preventing the reverse flow of current from the output (48).
