Abstract

A disposal bag for use with a bagless vacuum cleaner comprises a bag of flexible material. An elasticated rim is provided for the bag for sealing with a dust collection chamber of a bagless vacuum cleaner. A drawstring is located below the elasticated rim and towards the base of the bag for closing the bag prior to removal from the dust collection container. Preferably the drawstring partitions the top third of the bag from the bottom two thirds. The bag may be gusseted. The bag may be made of a disposable plastic such as high or low density polyethylene, a compostable or biodegradable material such as corn starch or paper, or a reusable material such as polypropylene, cotton or canvas. The elasticated rim may be adhered to or separate from the bag. The drawstring may be cotton or plastic film.

Description

Container I System to aid in the collection of Dust I Waste from a Bag-less Vacuum Cleaner
Field of invention
The invention relates to a container I system intended to aid in the collection of dust I waste from a bagless vacuum cleaner for disposal, without spillage I escape of dust particles.
Background of Invention
There are many types of variants of bagless vacuum cleaners which collect the dust and waste in a specific container intended to avoid using a collection bag.
This system was designed to eradicate the use of specifically designed expensively produced Vacuum Cleaner Bags and increase suction power of the vacuum without dirt clogging the bag. Once the bag is clogged, suction power is lost and dirt is left behind.
Waste I dust particles are collected into a container designed to hold and store until disposal.
This container can vary in size and shape depending on the make and manufacturer of the vacuum cleaner, however the general principle remains the same across the wide range of bagless vacuum cleaner systems on the market This system however does have its disadvantages; When the dust collecting container is full, it is often difficult to empty without some of the contents spilling. This can lead to mess, but also can cause user discomfort as the dust can lead to allergic reactions.
Summary of the invention
Briefly described, the invention relates to a container / system to aid in the disposal of dust I waste from a universal bagless vacuum cleaner, without the spillage I escape of waste I dust particles.
It is the intention of the invention to enable the user to dispose of their vacuum cleaners waste I dust safely & conveniently, without polluting the user's environment In describing the invention, there are two main key areas: The first application of the invented product relates to loading and location around the vacuum's dust collection container. Whilst preferably manufactured from a flexible material, the said invention could be that of a disposable plastic based material (High or Low Density Polyethylene), or a non plastic based technology such as, for example, a compostable I biodegradable material derived from corn or starch or possibly even a paper based material.
This said embodiment may also be a bag' made from a more reusable material including Non Woven Polypropylene, Cotton or Canvas for example.
For a positive location, and to provide a temporary seal between the bag and vacuum container, the said first application describes a method of providing the said seal. Preferably, this might be achieved with the use of elastic, typically seen in the application of a shower cap. This elasticated rim on the bag might be adhered in automated manufacture, hand assembled or even might be a separate member which is assembled over the bag and container by the end user.
The purpose of this elastic is to provide the initial bond between the said invention and vacuum container. This bond is designed to eliminate the diffusion of dust upon the opening of the container upon being emptied. The said elastic causes the dimension of the top rim to be less than that of the corresponding vacuum container circumference when the said rim is in it's relaxed' position. When expanded to fit, the bag rim retains the required tension to maintain its position on the container's surface.
The second application of the invention relates to the bag closure. As previously described, the main problem associated with current bagless' systems is maintaining the dust particles once the container has been opened. Even with the said described elasticated rim, alone, this would not provide a sufficient feature to maintain the dust when the bag is removed from the container.
To resolve this issue, the said invention utilises a drawstring feature. This said feature is located below the elasticated rim and towards the base of the bag. Preferably this feature will be situated 2/3 way up the bag face, with the usable capacity for emptying the container, available beneath the said feature. To achieve the required filling capacity, the base of the bag might preferably be gusseted to open out at gain filling depth.
The drawstring can be cotton, plastic film (draw-tape) or any suitable material. It can also be colour co-ordinated for branding or even printed with instructions for use or Customer branding.
The drawstring feature is used as a means of closing the bag prior to its removal from the vacuum container. As the previously described elasticated rim is located around the said container, the user releases the cover on the container and the dust is emptied into the said invention.
Once the container is empty, the described drawstring is pulled tight, retaining all of the dust securely in the main body of the bag. The elasticated rim can then be removed from the container with no risk of dust spillage. The bag is now ready for disposal.
