Abstract

A screen scraper (20) for a band-screen (2) comprises an elongate support (22), a plurality of scraper blades (24) each including an blade edge (26) which is elliptical and outwardly concave relative to the support (22), the scraper blades (24) being spring-mounted on the support (22) so as to be urged away from the support (22) , and the planes of the blades (24) being mutually parallel and at angle smaller than 90 degrees to the axis of the support (22). Preferably a band screen in the form of an endless belt includes a plurality of screens each having a cylindrical, outwardly convex surface and the screen scraper is positioned so the blades are urged into contact with the screens.
