Abstract

An inflatable device is attached to the wheel 7 of a buggy or pram so that it may be pushed more easily on sand, such as on a beach. A spring clamp 2 is clamped to the buggy or pram wheel which is supported by the buggy or pram frame 6. The clamp grips the wheel by means of a spring loading, and is attached to a base 5 which is fixed to the inflatable device. The inflatable device may be inflated by means of valve 4, and four inflatable devices are provided, one for each wheel of a buggy or pram. An adjustable stabilizer bar is detachably provided between pairs of buggy wheels, each bar linking a front and rear wheel. The stabiliser bar is adjusted to fit the spacing between the front and rear wheel by means of a locking nut 8.

Description

description
Inflatable Stabilizing Device As we all know it is virtually impossible to push a buggy or pram on sand as sand gets clogged between the wheels, this product idea is designed to make it easier to push a buggy/pram over sand. This invention consists of 4 inflatable devices moulded to 4 hard bases, an inflatable is made by taking 2 pieces.of vinyl/pvc of the same size and gluing the edges of both pieces so that you have an oblong shape then you can get some inlet valves the type that are used on blow up armbands and mould one on to each of your inflatables, once this is done if you inflate your inflatables you form type of an oblong shaped wl thse are then moulded on to pieces of hard plastic, once this is dore pieces of hard plastic can be shaped to form spring clamps you might asçx need to use heat treatment to shape the clamps, the spring clamps are then moulded on to the hard bases the inflatables are then moulded on to the ottopibf the hard base, the adjustable stabilizer bar is then engaged between the back and front wheels between the spring clamps, once the brakes are applied and the inflatables inflated you should be able to push the buggy/pram over sand as the inflatables should alleviate the wheels from the sand, both the inflatables and stabilizer bar/bars are removable for storage. * * S...

Claims (6)

  1. claims 1. An inflatable stabilizing unit comprising attachment means for attaching to a buggy or pram, an inflatable device is made by taking 2 pieces of vinyl/pvc of the same size and gluing round the edges to create a bowl type oblong which when inflated will hover over the sand or beach or other terrain areas.
  2. 2.The hard base can then be moulded to the inflatable device as in claim 1,then the spring clamp can be moulded to the hard base as in figure 3 which will be permanently fixed the spring clamp as in figure 2 can be pushed on to the wheel to form a compress to hold the wheel in place to avoid any movement of the wheel as in figure 4.
  3. 3. The inflatable device as explained in claim 1 can then be inflated using the inlet valve as shown in figures 2 and 3.
  4. 4. The stabilizing bar no 1 can be engaged between the back and front wheels respectively between the spring clamps once the stabilizing bar;isin, -place the tabs 9 on either side of the stabilizing bar 1 prevent the stabilizing.bar 1 from moving while in use.
  5. 5. The stabilizing bar 1 can then be adjusted to accomodate most size wheels by loosening the locking nut as shown in figures land 2.To enable you :: to slide the stabilizing bar to the width of the front and back wheels to your specification, the stabilizing bar is not permanently fixed, the reason for this is that the inflatables can be used individually if you wanted to use them on a S..beach trolley etc... * .* * * . * *. * . 6. 6. The stabilizing bar 1 consists of 4 tabs 9 on each side of the stabilizing bar these prevent the stabilizing bar from moving, the stabilizing bar once engaged between the spring clamps give the stabilizing bar 1 a firm hold, also keeps the wheels sturdy, the back brakes must be applied while the stabilizing bar is in use.are 2 stabilizing bars 1, one for each side of the buggy/pram these could be made from hard plastic or metal.8. The inflatables 3 can be removed easily for storage also the stabilizing bar 1 can be removed to then enab'e the user to use the pram/buggy as normal. *... * . * *. * S S.
