Abstract

The plectrum assembly comprises a plectrum, preferably in the form of a hard nylon blade 1, connected to both a contoured connecting arm 6 and index finger cradle 3. The connection may be trade by use of a cyanoacrylate adhesive and the contoured connecting arras 6 is ideally made from high density polyethylene sheet. Attached to the opposite end of the contoured connecting arm 6 is a harness 8, preferably made from butyl rubber sheet, which fits around a player's hand between the index finger knuckle and thumb. The plectrum assembly is a general purpose pick suitable for all types of guitar. It can be used for soft or loud strumming or single note playing. It remains in position between the thumb and the first finger of the playing hand, even when contact is removed entirely, because of the contoured connecting arm 6 and harness 8.
