Abstract

The invention relates to a plastic pouch or tray for the packaging of West African ready means. The tray and pouch may be hermetically sealed. The tray may have one or two compartments. The trays/ pouches are filled with food, e.g. West African food, sealed, and placed into a retort system which runs for a cycle reaching 121 C, in order to complete the cooking and sterilization of the food.
