Abstract

The strap, e.g. cable tie is stored in a roll and can be conveniently cut to any desired measure hence saving unnecessary wastage. Both surfaces of the strap are serrated with the teeth of each surface inclined in opposite directions along the strip (eg forwards and backwards) as shown in Fig.2. The system is completed with a separate joining case which is divided into two compartments each having pawls or ratchets, and each compartment adapted to receive in sliding manner the end of a fastening strap which is then latched or locked to form a loop or an extension. The portion supporting the ratchet may be defined as a flap that can be deflected with the aid of a handle in order to release the strap by disengagement of the ratchet and the teeth (see Fig.4).

Description

Multipurpose Tie
Description
There are different types of cable ties currently on the market however all of them are at certain lengths and if you need to tie something with a large diameter then you would encounter a problem. Most people tie multiple ties onto each other in order to produce the desired length.
My invention is totally different from the existing cable ties currently available on the market. I invented two items which cooperate with each other one being the roll and one being a case which ties the cable tie together. The cable tie is made of sturdy nylon tape with an integrated gear rack on both side of the tape, going opposite directions to each other. The tape comes on a roll e.g. lOOm. It also comes in different widths and sizes. You can cut and use the exact length you need from the roll.
The second part of my invention is a totally separate from the earlier described tie and it is an open case with two divisions each of containing a ratchet. The case comes in tow forms one with the handle for the ratchet and one without depending on the markets needs, which you can see in figure 1 and one not releasable as mentioned in figure 2.
* Releasable The two divisions have opposite to each other ratchets and from the ratchets there is an extension which would act as a handle. The handle can be pulled, which will release the ratchet and allow the user to release the case from the tie if they make a mistake. This gives the user flexibility to readjust the case and the tie.
* None Releasable The second type of case is the one without the handle where you enter the tape in it and it will hold tight the tie as seen in figure 2.
Depending on the length of the ties the tie is cut and then it is pulled through the case and once past the ratchet, it stops it from being pulled back and the other end entered on the other side of the case with the other ratchet. This way both sides are tied firmly and the ratchets will not let the cable come loose.
