Abstract
A self-sterilizing medical syringe which includes a sterilized product contained in zones within the syringe and which can be released to sterilize the syringe. The zones containing the sterilizing product can be closed by a soluble substance which melts on contact with water or a solvent to release the sterilizing product. The sterilizing product(s) can be one or more of the following: a herbicide, insecticide, or biocide. After sterilization the syringe may be reused or disposed.
Description
SELF SANITISING MEDICAL SYRINGE
This invention relates an item of importance which categorises for inclusion industrial portfolios of medical and pharmaceutical devices, equipments and appliances.
This invention relates to " self sanitising medical syringe ", an item of medical importance utilised for intravenous administration and/or intramuscular administration of therapeutics as so desired in the arena of pharmaceutical and medical industry as relate healthcare in the community.
Disclosure of Invention:
The scope of the present invention relates an innovation best described as " seif-sanitising" medical syringes.
In other words, it presents an item for the industry of administration wherein, a medical syringe is put forward for the industry which in itself is capable of self-sanitation.
The innovation at hand is of tremendous importance in an arena of " cleanliness " and " disposability " of an end-product.
The concept of sterility in the industry in preparation is applicable to more than one means in delivery methodology. This is important in single dose and multiple dose or rather multi-dose vials in a sterilised pre-filled disposable syringe for intramuscular and intravenous administration.
On the other hand, the non-prefilled disposable syringe is also equally important in an element of keeping away germs' and micro-organisms' as contaminations in drug delivery.
It seems not only is purity and sterility important in syringes as delivery appliances, the very source of storage of therapeutic is also of importance in maintaining sanitation to a purpose.

It is the aim and objective of this present invention and communication to present a novelty which may be of interest in many a circumstances which it seems there is an opportunity of a need' for better'life' and also a better and cleaner environment.
The case of re-infection' caused by a re-use of syringes by medical staff and personnel in one hand, is one. The ignorance by health workers especially nurses in the developing and developed world is one to worry about.
It spread diseases.
In other scenario, the spread of diseases such as HIV is also highlighted.
The fear of a contamination of a virus through a blood withdrawal and blood donation exercise is one by ignorant nurses.
The sharing of'needles' by drug-addict is another, therefore promoting the spread of HIV and other virus related diseases throughout the community.
It seems shortages of needle is not only a problem.
A level in the community and the world cannot have enough.
Therefore the need for more.
We are also afforded another'head-ache'.
The problem of syringe-collection after use' The problem of adequate disposal means and technology'.
The clinics and hospitals have indeed responded to the above two problems with time.
The first of this, through a regular collection service in the community.
In the hospital, collection and disposal tanks' and boxes' are the solution to a problem which medical doctors and nurses share on a daily basis especially after administering an injection.
It seems a used syringe has to be made' safe.
For the community as well as the environment.
This is for reasons as stated above,.
How do you make a'used syringe'safe for the community? How do you attenuate' one? The below described methodology for attenuation of used syringes in clinical employment.
It presents a seif-sanitising medical syringe.
Wherein, a great deal of syringes is for utilisation only once, it seems the reason for this safety' of use, re-use, and health and well-being.
Wherein, we are un-aware of a medical syringe which can be re-employed for utilisation twice, or more, it seems lack of sanitising methodology is responsible.
Wherein, if a syringe is adequately disposed of, in the right ways and mannerism, there is no reason why it should not be re-used.
On more than one ocassion assuming it is safe to do so.
It is the presentation of this invention to furnish peculiarities of a nature in a mode of -self-sanitation technology -Re-usability in syringes for delivery.

The technology presented i]..so seen to be depicted in fig.4 wherein there is an extra chamber covered by a membranic layering which is thought water sensitive, solvent sensitive, water soluble, solvent soluble, wherein, on contact with a solvent, water, the membrane dissolves to release compounds which may be -insecticides -herbicides -biocides Which "enlighten" as to a "purpose" which is SELF-SANITATION in outlook to justify the aim and objective of this work.
Wherein, on biocides release, any germs as possible is killed, disharmed, rendered helpless by any further threat as humanly possible to make *syringe unsafe for use by the community* *syringe unsafe for the clinics* Figure 5 is equally able to inform of a similar technology wherein, in the female part,cap,plug or otherwise, an innermost layer is rendered uncovered, to access biocides in storage of a nature which may be solid and solvent,; Wherein, fig.6 is thought not too different for use in the same manner; Wherein fig.7 is a reminder of operation of fig.2 wherein, the male cap in a female cap is presented; Wherein, the male plug,cap, part is covered or perforations covered by a membrane which is ideally dissolved through solvent sensitivity, solvent solubility, through other means as humanly possible, to uncover biocides which may keep the whole syringe in shape for a repetitive utilisation if so desired.
Claims (3)
- CLAIMS1. The invention relates a medical syringe of a self-sanitising nature, which makes it possible, of a medical syringe of multiple usage in intravenous and intramuscular administrations of drugs in one hand, and in the other hand, which makes it possible, for safe disposal' in the community after use, in the clinics and hospital after usage, wherein, the mannerism of self-sanitation' is one which is ideally defined to a male cap and a female cap so interconnected to form a syringe for delivery purposes, wherein, in each male ai.zI female caps, and parts, there is an item under enclosure and storage of a nature herbicidal, insecticidal and biocidal in nature and outlook, which may be solid and or liquid in storage and or in use, such that in release from storage'zones' the biocides may exert its biological action and activity not only from the male part and or cap, female cap and or part, but of an activity seen to extend through the whole of the syringe for a self-sanitation work seen to render in the long run, an item syringe, safe enough for re-use, for disposal without risk of contamination' re-infestation','re-infection' as is normally the case.
- 2. The invention relates a medical syringe of a self-sanitising nature, which makes it possible for a defined utilisation, and utilisation possible and achieved with reference to the diagrams as cited and made known in the specifications so hereby attached.
- 3. The invention relates a medical syringe of a self-sanitising nature for multiple re-utilisation in drug delivery through intravenous and intramuscular injection wherein the biocidal as employed is such that its action does not dilute, weaken through biocidal action, a drug to be administered as injection either as active agent or otherwise as secondary agent which may not necessarily serve as drug component in therapeutics.
