Abstract

An attachment device comprises a hollow cylindrical collar portion adapted to fit over the end of a scaffolding tube, the device being provided with a means of securing it and/or clamping it onto a scaffolding tube. The device also comprises a flat "lug" section which lies in a plane parallel to the axis of the scaffolding tube and extends beyond the end of said tube. The flat section may be provided with a hole for the purpose of securing it to the building facia. The device provides a means of achieving a firm attachment between a scaffolding tube within a scaffolding array and the fascia of the building.

Description
We believe, in some cases, that scaffolding may not be attached to a building with sufficient strength to take account of forces and stresses applied to the scaffolding which may result in the scaffolding falling away from the building.
The object of this invention is to provide a means of attaching the scaffolding in a manner with sufficient strength to overcome this problem.
The object of this patent is a separate device which may be fitted to the scaffolding tube at the time of erection, and with the aid of the clamping method provided fixed to the end of the scaffold tube.
The forward projecting lug which extends beyond the end of the tube enables the tube to be securely attached to the building by engaging this lug with a suitable retaining device on the face of the building.

Claims (3)

  1. S SCAFSAFE LUGClaims 1. A device having a hollow cylindrical portion which fits over the end of a scaffold tube and is provided with a means of securing it andlor clamping it on aforementioned tube.
  2. 2. This device is provided with a flat section that lies in a plane parallel to the axis of the tube and extends beyond the end of the aforementioned tube as in Claim 1.
  3. 3. The flat section of the device may be provided with a hole for the purpose of securing it to the building by any means necessary.
