Abstract

A vapour patch has an absorbent material 2 impregnated with menthol or other decongestant. The material is contained within a pouch 4 which is preferably clear, degradable plastic that is sealed around its periphery but is perforated (by holes 3) on one face. On the opposite face is preferably an adhesive layer with a release liner having a pull tab 1. The patch may be stuck onto an athlete's body or clothing or may be used to deliver decongestant to a patient; it can be removed and disposed of after use. The pouch may be shaped as a teddy bear or ball to appeal to children.

Description

Breathe Easy Sports Pouch This invention is a clean & easy to use new aid to help sports men & women to breathe more easily.
While watching football on the television, I noticed that many football players in particular smear the chest of their shirts in vaporub before a game begins to help them to breathe more easily whilst playing.
Although this solves a problem and helps the player to breathe easier, it creates another problem by making a mess of the shirt being worn at the time. To overcome this problem i designed & invented a product which I have named " The Breathe Easy Sports Pouch ". The pouch is a sealed clear matt plastic pouch which has an inner piece of moistened toilet tissue inside that contains vaporub within its fibres.
The front of the pouch has small aerating holes that naturally release the sealed vaporub inside as the wearer moves around without any leaks helping the wearer to breathe more easily and stay clean at the same time. The back of the pouch has a removable protective covering which once removed reveals a sticky backing that sticks to the wearers clothing without doing damage.
My preferred shape that i have chosen on the drawings is circular but the pouch can come in any size or shape including fun shapes for children with cold & flu symptom's such as a teddy bear/ball etc. The inner moistened toilet tissue within the sealed pouch can come in a variety of colour's that help it to blend in with the wearers clothing making it less visible when worn which shows through the clear plastic.
Once the disposable pouch has been used it can be gently peeled away and be discarded with as it made from degradable plastic.
It can be used in most sports both indoors and outdoors as well as professional and non professional throughout the world helping sports men & women to perform more effectively. As well as being used in sports to help people breathe more easily the pouch can also be stuck onto clothing for people suffering from cold & flu symptoms while sleeping or going about their everyday needs.
Example's of the invention can be seen by referring to the following accompanying drawings: Figure 1 shows a front view showing the outer sealed plastic pouch with the inner piece of moistened toilet tissue inside, with the aerating holes on the front and the tab showing through from the reverse side.
Figure 2 shows an angled side on view showing the sealed edge, aerating holes on the front, tab and the sticky back.
In figure 1 the pull tab 1 can be seen to remove the protective backing on the reverse, as well as the inner moistened toilet tissue 2 inside the outer sealed plastic pouch 4 and aerating holes 3 shown on the front to release the vapours inside.
Figure 2 shows an angled view with the sticky back 5 seen from the side.
