Abstract

A foldable stand suitable for supporting small electrical devices, e.g. mobile phones, PDAs and music players, is made from a blank of sheet material, e.g. cardboard, plastics, aluminium, and is the same size as most folding business cards. The blank folds in a similar manner to a greetings card and is designed such that the opposed free ends of the blank provide a pair of supporting lips and a pair of inclined support surfaces against which a device may rest. In use, the upper edge of the blank is formed with pairs of notches which offer support for ancillary items, such as pens. The inclined support surface allows the user to watch content being displayed on the supported device without having to hold the device. The stand may be used as a business card, and can be printed on for advertising or other information.

Description

PRODUCT SPECSIFICATION
1) DESCRIPTION/FUNCTION
Folding holder/stand for: Iphone,lpod touch, P.D.A.'s or other touch screen mobile phones or gadgets. Eg. Blackberry Storm ect.
Also including a Pen holder, and utility holder for whatever the user can fit in the cut out.
TECHNICAL SPECSFICATION
One piece of stiff card, gauge between (O.5mm-O.8mm) Dimensions of 55mm x 168mm aprox size. The card is folded in half to a dimension of 55mm x 84mm.
The card has a cut out Edge, on the two ends that meet. Two more across, the top of the card.
The cut out at the open end of the card is a straight cut at a 10 degree angle from the top edge of the card, 65mm from the folded end the cut runs 42mm downwards where, it becomes a smooth rounded curve. That changes direction out to the open edge of the card.
This cut is mirrored onto the other open end so when the card is folded the cut out's mach up in symmetry.
The second cut out is across the top of the card. It is a half-round cut 11mm in diameter again this cut is mirrored to the other side of the folded card in symmetry.
The third cut out is also in the top of the card, and is a symmetrical cut out that is square cut lOmmxl3rnm
MATERIALS
The original material is 400gsm (or other available) silk art board card.
This is in-essence a folding business card, that will be cut and folded Into shape in a print shop.
Other materials for latter development are nylon/plastics and aluminium plate. For these materials a hinge will act the same way, as the fold in the cardboard model.
Manufactured by a moulding or stamping process.
