Abstract

A parting bead assembly for a sliding window sash, the bead assembly comprises an elongate parting member 20 including a plurality of securement apertures and a plurality of first securement members 16 preferably in the form of bolts and a plurality of corresponding second securement members 38 preferably in the form of rivet nuts, wherein the bolts extend through the securement apertures and engage with respective nuts in order to secure the elongate parting member adjacent to an external side of a parting stile. An elongate reinforcement plate 32 is provided on the internal side of the stile and the reinforcement plate 32 has the rivet nuts welded thereto. Auxiliary screws 34 secure this reinforcement plate to the parting stile.
