Abstract

A manually operated vibrator comprises a striking mechanism3to cause vibrations actuated by a plunger8, all contained within a cylindrical body1. Vibrations are caused in both directions of stroke of the plunger8. The striking mechanism3may be fitted with at least one striker11. The speed of pushing or pulling the plunger8controls the frequency of vibrations. The outer surface of a striker actuator4may have corrugations which when pushed through the striking mechanism3causes the at least one striker11to impact on the inside of the cylindrical body1. The striker11may impact on at least one free sliding pad15within the vibrator body1. The pads may be mounted on a circular spring14within the body1. The striker actuator4may be returned to the rest position by means of a compression spring6. The at least one striker11may cause vibrations from both the push and the return stroke. The plunger8may have dampening means in the form of a spring9.

Description

Manual vibrator This invention relates to a device that manually produces vibrations within a sex toy.
A vibrator sex toy is used to stimulate sensitive areas of the body in particular the genitals with the objective to induce a pleasurable result for the person it's being applied to.
Vibrators are generally electrically powered either from mains voltage stepped down through a transformer or by battery power cells. The disadvantage with these being that the user needs to be near a power source or have access to batteries. Using mains supply also means having cables attached to the device that could get tangled or get in the way and use of batteries has the disadvantage of a relatively short power life coupled with the expense of replacements. Some vibrators taking power from the mains should not be used in submerged or wet environments for safety reasons and battery-powered devices should be insulated if to were used in water. The electric motors used in these electro-powered vibrators are often of low quality that gives a short service life. Care should be taken when disposing of batteries whereas a manually operated vibrator sex toy without batteries to dispose of poses a more environmentally friendly option.
The advantages of this manually powered vibrator sex toy are that it eliminates the disadvantages described in the previous paragraph. As it does not require a nearby power supply the device can be used almost anywhere and with no internal electronic or electrical connections means the possibility of circuit failure rendering the device inoperable is removed. Without an electric motor there is no possibility of the device becoming unusable due to motor failure and by not requiring electricity to power it means it is electrically safe. A minimal amount of parts made from conventional materials makes the design more environmentally friendly and recyclable. Most parts are produced by moulding to minimise the amount of material removed by machining this ensuring the carbon footprint is kept as small as possible. The manual vibrator makes it more controllable because the operator uses the stroke speed to find the vibration frequency that is most pleasurable. The vibrator can be used in environments that would make an electrically powered device inoperable or even unsafe. It can never be left running unattended and is potentially healthier for users as it induces them into physical activity to experience stimulation.
The device is enclosed within a moulded plastic body and to induce stimulation it, is held against or inserted into the vagina. The operator pushes the plunger that slides within the vibrator case causing the internal mechanism to produce vibrations that transmit small rapid forced pulses though pads that stimulate the person it's being used on. The return stroke is by spring reaction and by the operator ceasing to push in but with a light pull in the outwards direction. The device causes vibrations in both directions of stroke and the speed of push / pull determines the frequency of vibrations and vibrations produced on the return stroke will feel similar to those of the forward stroke.
The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows the device in the ready to use position.
Figure 2 shows the striker actuator and striking mechanism in detail.
Figure 3 detail, shows the striker actuator in mid-stroke.
Figure 4 shows the striker actuator in its fully extended position.
Figure 1 shows the device in its initial state, ready to use. The striking mechanism 3, is located within the vibrator body 1, while, the strike actuator assembly 4, is ready to slide in and out by actuation of plunger 8. Sliding parts are kept inline with aligned bore in the guide plate 5, and a similar bore within the end guide 7, in which the plunger tube 8, is supported. Spring 6 is the return spring and item 9, is the plunger damper spring. The plunger handle item 10 is shown in the ready to push position. It is intended that approximately the first 10cm of the vibrator body should be within the vagina. Located in the surface of the vibrator body 1, are pads mounted on a circular spring assembly 2 in their retracted position.
Figure 2 detail shows the striker actuator 4, and striking mechanism 3, which comprises of strikers 11, which pivot in the vertical plane normal to the axis of strike actuator 4, by means of a pivot pin item 13, in their initial position are held away from pads 15, and against a spigot on the striker actuator 4, by torsion springs 12. The circular spring 14 is relaxed at this stage.
Figure 3 detail shows the striker actuator 4, in mid-stroke passing through a hole in the striking mechanism 3. plate. A series of corrugations along the striker actuator 4, make rapid intermittent contact with the striker 11, causing the striker to be raised with force against pads 15 which are restricted from over travel by the circular spring 14. Each striker is forced to bounce between corrugations 4 and pads 15 with the aid of torsion spring 12. Creating the vibration effect through the pads 15, which move out of the vibrator body 1 a small distance, and contact the inside of the vagina. This action is repeated until the striker actuator assembly reaches its fully extended position stop or the operator manually reverses direction of stroke.
Figure 4 Show the striker actuator 4, in its furthest forward position. The plunger 8 is up against a stop on the guide plate 5, and return spring 6 is in its near flilly compressed state. The operator cannot push further and the release of spring energy together with a gentle pull from the operator on the plunger handle 10 returns the striker actuator assembly 4, back through the striker mechanism 3, again producing forced vibrations against pads 15 until the plunger 8, returns to its rest position against the end-stop guide 7, thus completing the cycle.
