Abstract
An electric fire light emitting diode (LED) control system comprises a remote control or manual LED colour change and stop/pause device fitted or designed within an existing electric fire. The system enables a user to change LEDs 7 to any colour of their choice using a printed circuit board (PCB) mounted programmed integrated circuit (IC). The chosen colour of the LEDs may be illuminated up and down in brightness, with a separate programmed IC, to provide a simulated fire effect 8. Preferably, the LEDs are multi-coloured, such as those provided by red, green and blue (RGB) devices.
Description
Electric fire LED control system This invention relates to an Electric fire LED control system.
This invention has been designed to be used in conjunction with any Manufacturers Flame devices used within electric fires to illuminate the flame effects and an extra facility to allow the LEDs to change in brightnes to give a movement in the fire bed area. This invention can be used with various colour combinations using LEDs (light emitting diodes) and either Remote control of the effects or touch button manual controls.
Using the RGB (red, green and blue) LED system or multi coloured LEDs reduces the running costs of the lighting effect and also the opportunity to change the lighting to any colour in the spectrum to suit the users chosen colour. Any number, style, colour combination, size, shape and wattage can also be used with this invention.
The system for changing colours can be made up onto a separate PCB (printed circuit board) in conjunction with existing remote control systems or a total PCB incorporating the entire Remote control system. The light changing system can be built into the same PCB with a switching system to allow the manufacturer to switch it off if this facility is not required.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:-Figure 1 shows the perspective in total of the total units within an electric fire.
Figure 2 shows the PCB for the Remote Control system attached to the existing manufacturers Remote control PCB.
Figure 3 shows the components on the RGB/colour combination printed circuit board for the operation of the colour changing. An IC and switch is also shown for colour LED movement.
Figure 4 shows the IC (integrated circuit) fitted to the board which is computer downloaded with the relevent information to change colours and stop/pause at any given colour hue in the spectrum.
A separate IC and switching system is shown for the colour niovment of the LEDs if required. The IC is downloaded with the relevent information to allow the LEDs to move up and down in brightness.
Figure 5 shows the Remote Control Handset with the 2 buttons, 1 to switch on and off the LED lighting and start the manufacturers flame effect and button 2 is pressed once to stop the colour change at any given colour hue and if depressed a second time reverts to the colour changing of the RGB/clour combination of LEDs. Depress button 2 again and this stops at the chosen colour.
Figure 6 shows the remote control with other button functions for heater options.
Refering to the drawing the LEDs 7 are positioned to where the manufacturer requires them to illuminate his own flame effect 8.
The Remote control PCB is fitted into the electric fire in a position as required by the manufacturer within the main chassis of the fire 8.
Claims (4)
- CLAIMSElectric fire LED conrol system 1 A remote control or manual LED colour changing device to allow the user to change LEDs to any colour of their choice within the spectrum using a programmed IC within a PCB and various components with either an existing Remote Control sytem or Manual system.A separate programmed IC and components to be switchable to allow the chosen colours of the LEDs to give a movement up and down in intensity to give a similated fire movment in an electric fire bed if required.
- 2 A colour changing device according to claim 1 in which a programmed ICs and components change LED colours within an electric fire.
- 3 A remote control or manual device linked to coloured LEDs to change colours and stop/pause the chosen colour and set colour when LEDs switched on and off. When selecting Stop/pause a second time the LED colour change enters its colour change sequence. A separate switch to give movment to the LEDs via a programmed IC.
- 4 An accessory for use within an electric fire to change multi coloured LEDs to the chosen colour for illumination and a separate switchable system to allow the LEDs to move up and down in intensity to give movement to the area of fire bed required for illumination if required.
