Abstract

A ventilation diffuser / air distribution terminal comprises a plastics box / housing 1 mounted to a ceiling or wall 5 of a building, the box 1 having a plurality of different size knockout areas 15 on at least one surface of the box to receive one of a plurality of different size spigots 3 or ducts through which air is communicated. The knockout areas 15 may be located on all four sides and top of the box 1 and are pushed out from inside the box 1. The box 1 may be of different sizes. The diffuser may be used in windows. The spigot(s) 3 may be fitted from inside the box 1 and comprise of a flange and a swage to stop the spigot(s) 3 from falling in or out once fitted. The box 1 may be fitted with plastics arms 2 to support the box 1 during fitting. The arms 2 may have holes with nuts (13, fig 2) moulded in them so that bolts (7, fig 1) may be used to fasten the diffuser in place and permit adjustment of the diffuser to prevent gaps and ensure a tight fit.

Description

Description
The box Ventilation wall and grill box constructed from plastic for use in the ventilation and air conditioning industry.
The box (Part B) will be available in different sizes with different size knockouts to the top and sides in order to allow entry from either top or sides.
The spigot The spigot (part A) will also be available in different sizes and will have a flange and a swage to stop it falling in or out once fitted to the box.
The spigot is fitted to the box from the inside at the opening to the bottom of the box once the correct knockout has been removed. The spigot should be pushed through the hole until the swage has passed through the box and is stopped by the flange.
The support arms The arms (Part C) are also made from plastic and push on to the box one opposite sides of each other, these help support the box once fitted to the ceiling tile. The arms have moulded holes in which M8 nuts can be pushed into then bolts can be used to fasten the diffuser type grill in place and can be used to adjust the grilles up or down avoiding any small gaps between the ceiling tile and the grill ensuring a tight fit and helping to stop movement.
