Abstract
The invention relates to a new sewerage pipe positioned parallel too and stepped higher up to an existing sewer pipe. The new pipe is capable of handling excess water due to flooding. The system will be used on land which is liable to be affected by flooding. Pumps and storage tanks may also be included with the sewerage pipe.
Description
FLOOD SEWERAGE-THE PARALLEL SYSTEM
This invention relates to properties which suffered flooding, are liable to be affected by flooding and to logged land which cannot be developed.
The idea is to build a new sewerage system parallel and stepped up higher to the existing one. This will involve mainly the storm sewer and will relate at first to separate drainage system where the storm intercepting chamber is connected to the existing storm sewer.
In the event that the drainage system is combined, the intercepting chamber will be connected to a filter system before diversing to the storm sewer.
From the sewer the water gets treated in a plant then stored in reservoirs for recirculation into drinking water and/or after sewerage can also be diversed in the sea.
The system will be helped by special pipe work, either tanks, pumps depending on the strength and power of the flooding.
LOGGED LAND
To take advantage of existing land which can be developed for residential and commercial, it is imperative to have a separate drainage system to control storm water from flood.
We will be working in conjunction and approval of Local Authorities, Environment Agencies and Water Boards. We will be using firms who specialise in underground pipes, and who deal also with tanks and treating plant.

Claims (4)
- " Sewerage" and "sewage". The term sewerage means the system Of sewers for the collection from a district not only the wastes from the various sanitary fittings, but also The rainwater which falls on the area sewered and is not absorbed by the ground. The Dirty water carried by the sewers is "sewage"
- 2 There are three methods of arranging a system of sewers, known respectively as The combined, separate and partially separate systems.a) Combined system. the combined system involves only the provision of a single Sewer in each street, there being also a single system of drains to each building, i.e. the sewer takes all the domestic sewage, rainwater on roofs and backyards and the road drainage.b) Separate system. In the separate system there are two sewers, one for foul sewage and one for surface water. Each building has two sets of drains, one for sewage and one for rainwater.b) Partially separate system. The partially separate system is a compromise between the two just described, and consists of two sewers; one sewer takes all drainage from buidings(i.e. the "soil" sewage, the waste water from baths, basins, sinks and rainwater from roofs and private paved spaces). The other sewer takes the surface water from road gulleys and public paved spaces.
- 3 Intercepting chamber is the last manhole of a property before connecting to the sewer.
- 4 Pipe sewer. Small sewers are generally constructed of Iron pipes with caulked lead joints or of stoneware pipes. Stoneware pipes can rise as much as 750mm diameter. They are also built in brickwork, pre cast concrete and heavy duty PVC 1200mm diameter and larger. They come in different shape, egg shape, oblong and circular sewers.
