Abstract
A device for strengthening a crutch comprises a shaped angled bracket which fits to both the horizontal crutch handle and the vertical crutch leg. The bracket is formed from a rectangular plate which is bent in two places so that one end of the plate is perpendicular to the other end. A hole is drilled in each end of the plate and screws are used to attach the device to an elbow or forearm crutch. The device prevent the handle breaking from the crutch.
Description
DESCRIPTION of
Permenforce How to make it How to attach it to a pair of crutches I am disabled and I use permanent user elbow crutches. After using my crutches for a long period of time the handle of the crutch would break. The handle of the elbow crutch would break because of pressure that was applied to it from my weight and from things that I would carry. For example shopping and other items that would add excess pressure onto the handle of the elbow crutch.
I made Permenforce to * permanently stop the handle of the elbow crutch from breaking because of the pressure that is placed onto it therefore allowing me to carry the things that I needed.
* stop me and other crutch users from injuring themselves when the crutch handle broke.
* prevent the disruption that would have been caused to my daily life. For example going to and from work would have to stop while I replaced the broken crutches or while I waited for a new pair of crutches to be delivered to me.
Therefore Permenforce has stopped the disruption that would have been caused to my daily life and to the daily lives of other people that use crutches.
The person that uses the crutches that has Permenforce attached to it will have the peace of mind that they deserve and they will be able to get on with their lives knowing that their crutches are truly safer, more secure and reliable. They will also be assured that the crutches will last the user for a very long time.
Permenforce are devices that permanently reinforce a pair of crutches by reducing the pressure that is placed onto the handle of the elbow crutch by absorbing and dissipating this pressure onto the elbow crutch leg. Therefore the pressure is mainly carried by the elbow crutch leg which is stronger than the elbow crutch handle. The elbow crutch handle will never break.
My drawings that are displayed in (Fig 1A, 1B, 1C) (Fig 2A, 2B) and (Fig 3) show the material to use to make Permenforce. They also show how to make Permenforce and the tools that can be used to make Permenforce.

METHOD
Mould the steel plate into the shape of Permenforce using the work bench, hammer and the pliers. Fig lB.
Drill 2 holes through the steel plate using the 6mm Titanium drill bit. I hole at the top and 1 hole at the bottom, Fig 1A.
Mount the steel plate between the elbow crutch handle and the elbow crutch leg, Fig 2A.
Using the black pen draw 2 circles onto the elbow crutch where the drilled holes on the steel plate meet the elbow crutch leg and the elbow crutch handle Drill through the crutch handle and the crutch leg at the 2 points where the circles were drawn.
Mo.mt the steel plate back into position.
Using the screw driver screw the (6 x 50mm) screws through the elbow crutch handle and the steel plate, and through the steel plate and the elbow crutch leg Attach the 2 (" x 2") nuts to the screws and tighten the nuts. This will firmly attach the steel plate between the elbow crutch handle and the elbow crutch leg, Fig 2B.
Cut any excess screw from the elbow crutch leg and the elbow crutch handle using the Junior Hack Saw.
Attach the 2 (1/4" x 2") nut caps to the screws to give a flush finish. Fig3.
Claims (11)
- CLAIMS1. Permenforce dissipates the pressure that is applied to the elbow crutch handle by the user mainly to the leg of the elbow crutch which is stronger than the handle of the elbow crutch.
- 2. Permenforce considerably reduces the pressure that is placed onto the elbow crutch handle by the user therefore it permanently re-enforces the crutch handle.
- 3. Permenforce prevents the elbow crutch handle from breaking as a result of the pressure that is applied to it by the user.
- 4. Permenforce is durable and it allows the user of the elbow crutches to confidently carry their shopping and other items that are light or heavy in weight and are useful in their daily lives without breaking the elbow cutch handle.
- 5. Permenforce stops the user of the elbow crutch from injuring themselves as a result of the elbow crutch handle breaking because it stops the elbow crutch handle from breaking.
- 6. Permenforce allows the user of the elbow crutches to continue to go to and from work without disruption because without permenlorce the elbow crutch user would have to stop going to work while they were waiting to have the broken crutch replaced.
- 7. The person that uses the crutches that has Permenforce attached to it will have the peace of mind that they deserve and they will be able to get on with their lives knowing that their crutches are truly safer, more secure and reliable. They will also be assured that the crutches will last the user for a very long time.
- 8. Permenforce does not cause any discomfort to the user's hands and when it is attached to the crutch any additional weight that is added onto the crutch is negligible, Permenforce does not make the crutch heavy for the user.
- 9. Permenforce is transferable, it can easily be removed from one elbow crutch and transferred to another elbow crutch and reattached to it in minutes.
- 10. Perrnenforces shape and its size are permanent universal, it does not need to be adjusted or restructured when it is transferred from 1 elbow crutch to another.
- 11. Permenforce can be attached to any and all elbow crutches.
