Abstract

The passive headset switch offers a convenient desktop solution that allows the use a standard telephone headset device to hear audio from a personal computer. The switch is easy to install and aimed at office staff that need to operate their telephone 'hands-free' with the use of a phone headset. They are also able to listen to 'unified voice mail', webcasts, video and audio clips using the phone headset. Installation is straightforward, with three steps; plug the switch into the headphone jack on the PC using the cable supplied, then plug the switch into the headset jack on the telephone using the cable supplied, and then plug the telephone headset into the switch.

A headset is required to have a hands-free' conversation on the telephone. Another is required to listen to PC audio with privacy. The device is wired and more simple to use compared to wireless options.

Patent device claim 2 The Algabe 2.1 Passive Headset Switch offers a convenient desktop solution that allows you to use a telephone headset device to also hear audio from a personal computer.The first version Algabe 2.1 is designed to work with the Cisco IP telephone products and any personal computer. The device can be adapted to use on other phone manufacturer's equipment.The Algabe 2.1 is unique as it is a passive device and needs no electricity supply. The device is supplied with a 3.5mm male to male audio cable, and a RJ1O to RJIO cable.Installation takes seconds with three simple steps.1. plug it into the headphone jack on the PC.
