Abstract

The Beach Trolley is an efficient transportation system that solves the problem of carrying multiple items to and across the beach. The Beach Trolley is made up of two parts, a folding metal framework (see figures 2 and 4) and a detachable folding polyethylene body E. The Beach Trolley rolls on four wheels while on the pavement, and when on sand it is smoothly pulled using two permanently attached metal skis C, 20 cm long and 10cm wide, at an angle of 45 degrees to the framework. The Beach Trolley has a detachable foldable body E made of polyethylene fabric. Once detached and unfolded this can be placed into the sand and used as a windbreaker (see figure 3). A plastic coated handle D of the trolley may be folded down to the base of the trolley when not required, and the wheels may be provided with brakes B.

Descrintion 1 The Beach Trolley (Application for Patent, Susan Martin WFIO 5TQ) The Beach Trolley is an efficient transportation system that solves the problem of carrying individual items to and across the beach from your vehicle/holiday home. It consists of two parts, a metal framework and detachable body.

The Beach Trolley is made up of a metal framework (see F figure 2) that is fully foldable (see N figure 4) via the handle being attached by a swivel hinge (see I figure 2) It has two lockable hinges when in use (see A figure 1). The framework measures 90cm long, 60cm wide with the handle at a height of 80cm from the base when unfolded (see D figure 1). The handle itself has a diameter of 8 cm, being plastic coated for easy grip. Whilst on pavements the Beach Trolley rolls on 4 permanently attached 15 cm diameter rubber wheels and has manual pedal releasing brakes (see B figure 1). When on the sand the Beach Trolley can be pulled on two permanent 20cm long, 10cm wide skis' that remain at an angle of degrees to the framework (see C figure 1). The metal framework also has 5 x 8cm wide, 15cm long metal tubes permanently attached. Two of these tubes are found at the base and to the left of the handle, the remaining three are located in each corner of the Beach Trolley (see H figure 2). These tubes contain the legs of the windbreaker which when folded creates the body of the Beach Trolley (see E figure 1). The metal framework also has a permanent polyethylene base and permanent 15cm high skirt encompassing the metal tubes (see G figure 2).

The body of the Beach Trolley is a polyethylene foldable, detachable windbreaker (see E figure 1). The windbreaker when unfolded measures 300cm wide consisting of 2 x 90cm panels and 2 x 60cm panels. The height of the unfolded windbreaker, including the 15cm protruding legs (see J figure 3) is 135cm. The windbreaker contains a lockable catch 75cm high on each of its five supporting legs to secure when opened (see K figure 3). The windbreaker also has a securing clip to fasten the end legs together when folded to produce the body of the Beach Trolley (see L figure 3).
