Abstract
Hosiery 2 with an integrated pad positioned under the ball area of the foot 3. The padded hosiery alleviates pain when wearing high-heeled boots or shoes. The pad may be integrated into a sock, pop sock, stocking or a pair of tights. The pad is made of a soft shock absorbent material such as condensed foam.
Description
Comfort Socks This invention is designed to alleviate pain ii the balls of the feet when wearing high-heeled boots or shoes.
Often women experience pain in the blls of their feet from wearing high-heeled footwear for long periods of time. The only well known product currently on the market aimed at addressing this problem are discrele gel-type pads, which can be inserted under the bail of the foot to rethlce pain.
However users of these existing discrete pads may experience certain problems: 1) The user may have difficulty placing the discrete pads in the correct position, especially in high-heeled boots.
2) Difficulties maybe experienced by displacing the cliscrçte pads when insertifig tJ foot in to tho f-oQtwear, also the discrete pads often move around when walking causing discomfort.
3) The large size and shape of the discrete pads can make the footwear very tight and squash The foot and toes causing discomfort, 4) The material ued to make the existing discrete pads is hard and not very shock absorbent.
The Comfort Sock is a product containing a suitably shaped and positioned spongy pad integrated into the sock, with the pad located under the ball area of the foot. The pad may also be integrated into pop socks, stockings or tights.
Figure 1 shows the shape and position of the pad.
Figure 2 shows the Comfort Sock with the integrated pad.
The benefits of integrating the pad into the sock are as follows: 1) The pad is already located in the correct position under the ball of the foot, as shown in Figures 1& 2.
2) The integration of the pad maintains it in the correct position when inserting the foot in to the footwear and limits its displacement whjlst walking.
3) Its suitable shape and reduced size allows the pad to fit directly under the ball of the foot and takes up less room within the footwear giving reater comfort to the foot and toes, as shown in Figure 1.
4) The pad is made of a soft more shock absorbent material such as condenset, foam or similar material which is more forgiving on the foot than existing discrete pads.
Claims (2)
- Claims I) A product containing a suitably shaped and positioned spongy pad integrated into a soék, with the pad located under the ball area of tie foot to alleviate pain, when wearing high-heeled boots or shoes.
- 2) A product according to claim i, in which the pads can be integrated into a pop sQck, stocking or pair of tights.
