Abstract
Cothing c incorporates body supporting underwear b which is sewn into the clothing. The clothing with integral body support may include a dress, shirt, skirt, vest, jeans, t-shirt, or trousers. In particular the support is attached to a seam a and hangs in the item of clothing. The support may be releasably attached to an item of clothing by hooks.
Description
DESCRIPTION 1
Body Supporting Clothes
Background
I had a "fat day" and thought I would buy a body shaper but I didn't like the fact they were separate and in many circumstances it could be obvious I was wearing one. Then I thought it would be better if the body shaper were part of a piece of clothing, that I could use for special occasions or when I was having a "fat day". I thought it would be a good idea if I could have an "off day" pair of Jeans that incorporated inside of it a little extra something that would pull me in.
I then had other off days, which involved other parts of my body and thought that body support for my waist and stomach would be good incorporated into my clothes as well. So I started to search for clothes that had support sewn inside of them but loose so my body can be shaped before the garment is fallen into place.
I didn't find any so thought it would be a good idea to sew some supporting material into a pair of jeans, only sewing them at the top of the jeans so they support my thighs, hips and burn first then the jeans will cling to my legs as usual. I thought that if there was something like this I could take off my jeans and support in one, as they were one garment. For all women this would be fantastic on dates and special occasions as there would be no "Bridget Jones" moment, or your skirt suddenly flying up with the support visible to all.
I started to see how supporting material could be incorporated into other garments and started to do some drawings of how this would work.
What does the Invention do? * Pulls in the body in the right places * Conceals the fact you are using body support as the support is part of the garment * Increases confidence Key Features * Body shaper that pulls in women in the right places * Supports the body before the garment falls into place * Is part of the garment rather than separate Drawings There are 8 figures with examples of how a garment will work with support attached to the garment, and how it can be concealed.
Figures 1 to Figure 4 show examples of how the support can be incorporated inside clothing.
The examples shown include: * Long formal dress -Figure 1 * Shirt -Figure 2.1 * Skirt -Figure 2.2 * Vest -Figure 3.1 * Jeans -Figure 3.2 * T-Shirt -Figure 4.1 * Trousers -Figure 4.2 The dotted lines indicate how the support will fit to a woman's curves; they also show that the support is hidden and is sewn into the garment.
Figures 5 to Figure 8 show a detailed view of how the support cart be attached to the garment. The diagrams included are: * apairofJeans-Figure5 * aSkirt-Figure6 * aShirt-Figure7 * detailed close up of the support material that will need to have invisible buttons -Figure 8
Detailed Description
To give a more detailed look at my invention I will be using figures 5 to figure 8.
The point of the invention is to have a garment that has support but is attached at the seam and hung loosely so the garment is free to hang to a woman's curve without being restricted by the supporting material.
Figure 5 shows an example of how support can be added to a pair of jeans. Figure 5 a shows where the supporting material will be attached. Figure 5 b shows how the supporting material pulls in and supports the thighs, hips and bum; the support stops just before the knees. Figure 5 c shows the outline of the jeans and how the jeans are still the same but will cling to the thighs how they usually would; the effect is slimmer thighs and hips that the jeans will cling to naturally.
This design will make it easy to take of a pair of Jeans in any situation and you are able to wear your underwear underneath.
Figure 6 shows an example of a skirt. This support comes in the shape of a skirt, it will support the bum, thigh and hips and the skirt will fall nicely to the curve of the woman without making the skirt look tight and pulled in. Figure 6 a shows where the supporting material is attached to the skirt, then hung loosely inside the skirt (Figure 6 b). Figure 6 c shows that the skirt will fall the way it was designed to.
Figure 7 shows a shirt (Figure 7 a) that has support attached to the shoulders of the shirt (Figure 7 b) and begins to support the waist and stomach under the chest. As the shirt opens up the support will need a hook and hole so that it is easy to put on and take off (Figure 7 c). Figure 8 shows how this could work. Figure 8 a shows the hole that the hook (Figure 8 b) will be secured into. Once they are all secured it would leave a seamless line that will not be obvious to others.
These 3 examples are the basic principles for other garments and how they could work. This invention could help women's confidence when they are having an off day. It can also give them that little bit extra boost on special occasions.
