Abstract

A fish feeding device comprises a hollow shape with at least one hole which allows ingress and egress for small fish whilst excluding larger fish and a feed hole at the top. The device has fixing means for securing to the glass on the inside of fish tank, this fixing means may be a suction cup. The feed hole allows food to be placed in the inside of the device. There may be three holes in the side to allow fish access. The device may be substantially spherical in shape.

Description

Page 1 A Feed with Ease This invention relates to a feeding area for smaller fish within a fish tank.
I noticed, when feeding my fish that the bigger species (being much faster swimmers) would eat all the food before the smaller variety's (e.g. Guppy's) could even get to it. Therefore, the smaller fish remained hungry. I decided that the smaller species would benefit from their own feeding area.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings:-Figure 1: Begin with a non-toxic hollow plastic ball Figure 2: Cut out a small circular hole midway to make an opening into the ball, file circular opening to make smooth. This now becomes the front section.
Figure 3: From the front section, turn the ball slightly to your right, and cut out a small circular hole, slightly higher than midway, file and make smooth. This will be the Left view.
From the front section, turn the ball slightly to your left. Cut out a small circular hole, slightly higher than midway. File and make smooth. ThlsilI bethe Right view.
Figure 4: Halfway up from the front section opening, cut out slightly larger circular opening.
File to make smooth. This will be the Top View.
Figure 5: Insert a non-toxic plastic screw through a large strong suction cup. Behind the Top opening (Fig 4) make a tiny slit and insert the plastic screw. Once the head of the screw sits snugly on top of the ball, fix (from the inside, see 1. Fig 5)) a non-toxic plastic nut onto the screw to make secure.
Figure 6: An overall view of invention.
Page 2 The finished product (See Figure 6) would be stuck by the suction cup to the glass on the inside of a fish tank.
The top opening (Figure 4) is for food entry; therefore, it must be slightly above the water level. Placing the suction cup on the highest point of the glass would ensure this.
The three openings (Figures 2 and 3) are for the smaller fish to swim freely in and out to retrieve food.
