Abstract

A self contained, battery operated, residential smoke alarms already is fitted with a 24 hour timer. The timer enables the alarm to operate in either a permanently "on" mode or allows the user to set the alarm to detect smoke only within specific hours of the day.

SELF CONTAINED, BATTERY OPERATED, RESIDENTIAL SMOKE ALARM WITH 24 HOUR TIMER.
This invention relates to a self contained, battery operated, residential smoke alarms already in common user but fitted with a 24 hour timer.
Residential smoke alarms often activate at times when smoke is present but that smoke results from a legitimate non-threatening context; in particular, cooking. This can annoy and inconvenience residents and, in some case, leads users to deactivate the device. If the user forgets that the device has been deactivated this can cause be dangerous; potentially fatal.
This invention is similar Co the self contained, battery operated, residential smoke alarms already in common user but is fitted with a 24 hour timer. This enables the alarm to operate in either a permanently "On" mode or allows the user to set the alarm to detect smoke only within specific hours of the day.
