Abstract

A portable urinal comprises a collecting head 2 connected to a urine bag 4 via a flexible tube 6. Preferably the collection head 2 acts as a funnel to collect and direct urine into the tubing 6, and is slightly raised at the back to prevent any over flow while in use. Preferably the urine bag 4 is flexible and waterproof and can be folded when not in use for transportation, has a one way valve 7 to prevent smells and spillages and may be emptied and cleaned via a second outlet with a screw cap 5. Preferably the bag is supported by a collar 3 made of plastic that supports the urine bag and may be used to store the urine bag and flexible tube for storage and transportation (fig 1). Preferably the flexible tube 6 may be of a sufficient length to allow the urine bag to be placed on the floor during use if required. The urinal may have a lid (1, fig 1) made of flexible plastic.

Description

1 2457056 Re-usable travel urinal for adults and children This invention relates to a mobile urinal which can be used in various places and conditions.
When adults and children are travelling, working or playing their sometimes find them self's unable to use a normal flushing toilet. With this invention they can urinate in a private space such as a car or tent.
Also this invention will help the disabled and people with medical conditions which restricts them from using a normal flushing toilet.
The travel urinal has a collecting head where one would urinate into and it would flow down a flexible and collapsible tube. Then the urine would flow into a urine bag which is supported by a bag unit and has a one way value fitted to prevent any smells or spillage it then can be emptied by a screw cap on the urine bag and re-used. It also has a lid which clips on and off the collecting head to prevent spills and smells.
The lid is made of flexible plastic and snaps on and off the collecting head.
The collecting head is a type of funnel which collects urine. It's made of a plastic and is easy to use and clean. It is shaped for males, females and children. The opening is wider at the top and is slightly raised at the back to prevent any over flow while in use. It then narrows downwards to direct the urine in to the flexible collapsible tubing.
The flexible and collapsible tubing which carry's the urine down from the collecting head to the bag unit and then Into the urine bag has a length up to two meters long. It can be pulled out to its maximum length or folded up in the collecting head and bag unit depending on the use.
The one way value is fitted to the bag unit to prevent spillage and smells.
The bag unit is made of plastic and will support the urine bag in the travelling position and working position.
The urine bag is flexible, waterproof and can fold in on It self when not in use making it a small and compact travel urinal which can be carried in a pocket or small bag. Also the urine bag has a screw cap which gives the user the option to empty and clean the urine bag.
This invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows the travel urinal in its small and compact travelling position.
Figure 2 shows the travel urinal in its working position with the collecting head attached to the bag unit and the urine bag realised from its travelling position.
Figure 3 shows the travel urinal in its fully extended working position where the collecting head is attached to the bag unit by a flexible and collapsible tube and the urine bag realised from its travelling position.
In figure 1, the lid 1 will attach to the collecting head 2 this is then attached to the bag unit 3 the urine bag 4 is hidden in this position underneath and clipped into the bag unit 3 while in the travelling position.
In figure 2, the collecting head 2 is attached to the bag unit 3 the urinal bag 4 has been unclipped and realised into its working position.
In figure 3 the collecting head 2 is attached to the bag unit 3 by a flexible and collapsible tube 6 giving the user more options in use. The one way value 7 is fitted at the bag unit 3 to prevent spillage and smells. The urine bag 4 has been realised into its working position. Once the urine bag 4 has been used the user can unscrew cap 5 to empty the urine out of the bag. Claim

Claims (10)

1. A travel urinal gives the user the option to urinate when a normal flushing toilet is unavailable, ft's small enough to fit in a pocket or small bag but capable of holding at least 2 litres or more of urine, the travel urinal can be washed after every use, the travel urinal is a hand held Invention that has two working positions where the user can choose depending on his or her location and surroundings.
2. The collecting head has an opening for men, women, kids and disabled people and the shape of the collecting head will help the urine flow downwards to the urine bag, the flexible and collapsible tubing will give the user the option of placing the bag unit and urine bag on the floor while urinating the tubing will have a length up to two meters long and the bag unit will support and also hold the urine bag in the travelling and working positions.
3, In claim 1 the travel urinal is small and compact this is achieved by the urine bag and bag unit all folding in on them self's and attaching onto the collecting head with the lid clipped on.
4. In claim 1 the travel urinal has two working position working position one is when the collecting head is attached to the bag unit with the urine bag realised from the bag unit and working position two is when the collecting head is attached to the bag unit by the flexible and collapsible tubing with the urine bag realised.
5. In claim 1 the amount of urine collected in the urine bag will be possible by supplying a bag capable of holding up to 2 litres.
6. In claim 1 the travel urine can be washed out to wash the bag the user must unscrew the cap on the urine bag then starting at the collecting head wash downwards to the urine bag.
7. In claim 1 the travel urinal Is hand held to hold the travel urinal the user holds the collecting head while in use.
8. In claim 2 the flexible and collapsible tubing can be up to two meters long and can be used to give the travel urinal more options in use by placing the urine bag and bag unit on the floor.
9. In claim 2 the collecting head is for men, women, kids and disabled people this is possible by the two working positions of the travel urinal and the shape of the collecting head which allows the urine to drain away quickly and prevent urine flowing backwards.
10. In claim 2 the bag unit will hold and support the urine bag and will connect the urIne bag with the collecting head by a flexible and collapsible tube.
