Abstract

A greetings card <B>1</B> comprises a front and back section, the front section being of sufficient depth or thickness <B>2</B> to have a recessed part <B>3</B> in which an independent audio message device can be contained, the message device being activate able from the front of the card <B>1</B>. The recess <B>3</B> may have a first membrane <B>4</B> at a base of the recess <B>3</B> which supports the message device and a second membrane over the top of the message device through which the device can be activated. The second membrane may incorporate a pressure pad <B>5</B> to facilitate playback of the message device.

Background

This invention relates to a greetings card designed to accommodate a personalized audio message device onto the front of a one fold sheet Greetings cards with personalized electronic messages tend to be activated from the opening of the card. The audio message apparatus is typically retained within a pocket fastened to the middle inside section of a two fold sheet. Personalized messages have to be sent to the manufacturer for incorporation into the apparatus contained in the pocket. The message once incorporated cannot be thanged by the purchaser of the greetings card.

Statement of Invention

To overcome the above limitations of existing personalized greetings cards this invention proposes a greetings card with a recessed section incorporated into the design on the front cover of the card. The recessed section supports an independent audio message device and facilitates playback through a pressure membrane.

Advantages The greetings card enables the purchaser to incorporate a message into the greetings card in their own time and space, prior to sending it to the recipient.

Introduction to Drawina

An example of the invention is described by referring to the accompanying drawing (1/1) Figure 1 shows the greetings card with recessed section on the front cover which holds the independent audio message device.

Figure 2 shows the membrane cover which fits over the recess on the front of the greeting card.

The card (fig 1) comprises a sheet, folded along its center to provide two separate sections. The front of the greetings card (1) is of sufficient thickness (2) to incorporate a recessed section (3) which forms part of the design on the front of the card (1). The membrane (fig 2) is designed to fit over the recess on the front of the card (3). The personalized message device is fastened to a holding membrane (4) at the bottom of the recessed section (3). The independent audio message devise is activated by applying pressure to the pressure pad (5) on the membrane (flg2) when it is fastened over the recess (3).

2. 2 A greetings card according to claim I that has a membrane at the base of the recess to support an independent audio message device.
3. 3 A greetings card according to claim I which has a membrane designed to fit over the recess on the front of the greetings card through which the independent audio message devise can be activated 4 A membrane according to claim 3 that incorporates a pressure pad to facilitate playback of the independent audio message device.
