Abstract

A food server consisting of a food bowl 3 supported by a framework 1 and incorporating two legs 2 or a complete base 6. The face 4 of the food server will be at a variable angle to the bottom of the legs 2 or complete base 6. The depth of the bowl 3 will vary from shallow to deep. The base of the bowl 5 will be parallel to the bottom of the horizontal legs 2 or complete base 6 or will be at a variable angle rising up and away from the front of the Food Server The legs 2 or complete base 6 of the food server will be the same area or larger in area than the face 4 area of the food server. The undersides of the legs 2 or complete base 6 of the food server will be fitted with anti-slip material to aid stability. The bowl may be integral or detachable from the framework. Particularly suited to persons with limited or restricted arm movements or who have poor coordination.

Description

I
Description
FOOD SERVER
This invention relates to a stable Food Server.
When persons with limited or restricted arm movements or who have poor co-ordination use plates or bowls from which to feed themselves the design of the plates or bowls lends them to easily overturn or at least become unsteady resulting in food spillages.
This can mean that users can become frustrated, lack self-confidence and suffer low self-esteem. Users can then become more dependent on other persons to feed them.
Present designs of plates and bowls also appear not to be in sympathy with a users field of vision nor sufficiently angled to promote confidence in use.
Statement of invention
To overcome this the present invention proposes a food bowl which is supported by a frame incorporating two broad legs or a complete base fitted with anti-slip material to their undersides.
The legs or base of the Food Server cover the same area or are larger in area than the face or top of the Server.
The face of the Food Server is angled which will be variable in degrees of angle.
The depth of the bowl will vary from shallow to deep.
The base of the bowl will be parallel to the bottom of the legs or complete base of the Food Server or be at a variable angJe to the legs/base i.e. angled upwards and away from the front of the Food Server.
The bowl of the Food Server will be a fixed integral part or will be detachable simply slotting into the framework.
Advantages The stabilising framework incorporating anti-slip legs or complete base will help to ensure that the Food Server is not easily overturned promoting confidence in persons using it.
Preferably the face of the Food Server will be at a variable angle raising the bowl and its contents into the users field of vision.
Preferably the bowl will be of sufficient depth to help prevent spillages.
Preferably the base of the bowl will be either parallel to the bottom of the horizontal legs or complete base, or will be variably angled upwards and away from the front of the Food Server to suit a users individual needs.
Preferably the legs or base of the Food Server will be the same area or a larger area than the face or upper part of the Food Server to minimize the risk of the Food Server being overturned while in use.
Introduction to drawings
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 shows the Food Server Figure 2 shows the Food Server with a complete base.
Figure 3 shows a side view of the Food Server demonstrating an angled base The Food Server will be either a single complete unit (Fig.1) or a framework into which a detachable bowl 3 can be inserted.
The bowl 3 which can vary in depth is supported by a framework 1 incorporating either two legs 2 or a complete base 6 which have anti-slip undersides providing grip and aiding stability.
The legs 2 or complete base 6 cover the same or a larger area than the face 4 of the Food Server.
The face 4 of the Food Server is variably angled to the bottom of the horizontal legs 2 or complete base 6.
The base of the bowl 5 will be either parallel to the bottom of the horizontal legs 2 or complete base 6 or will be at a variable angle to them rising up and away from the front of the Food Server (Fig.3)
